Mumford and Sons is a very talented group; they miraculously blend a banjo and a lot of acoustic guitar into their pieces while rarely being considered country. However, their songs seem like they're becoming slightly repetitive. The lyrics seem to differ enough, but their strumming pattern and their main singing style/main idea is always very close to being the same.
I practically screamed this song out after my recent heartbreak. Although he had the right to sing this song to me, "You did not think, when you sent me to the brink! You desired my attention, but denied my affection!". But then I could apply this song to him, because, "Can you kneel before the king (your conscience) and say I'm clean?" and then, "Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life". Well, I like this song because it has a passon in it, because there's fire and energy here. You can really tell that they put their heart and soul into this song, like all their others.
The first verse of this song is amazing. This is a true 'love song.' It doesn't shy away from the responsibility of love that is often ignored to make way for the giddy emotion. Perhaps if more guys (given the context of the song) asked themselves those questions before taking someone else's heart into their hands, then Adele wouldn't have much to sing about. On second thought, Adele having nothing to sing about wouldn't be a good thing. :D
