The Muggs
Formed in 2000 around the talents of guitarist/vocalist Danny Methric, bassist/backing vocalist Tony DeNardo, and drummer Matt Rost, Detroit-based blues-rock juggernaut the Muggs spent the early part of the new century building a devoted army of local fans. In September 2001, just as the train was getting rolling, tragedy struck when the 28-year-old DeNardo suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, nearly ending his life. After two years of intense physical therapy, DeNardo emerged victorious, but with a paralyzed right hand. Determined to pick right back up where they started, DeNardo began playing his basslines on a Fender Rhodes piano and the Muggs 2.0 were ready hit the stage. After signing with local indie label Times Beach Records in 2005, the Muggs released their eponymous debut and hit the road. That road eventually led to an audition for the FOX reality TV show The Next Great American Band, for which they were chosen out of over 10,000 applicants. They managed to last four episodes before heading home, where Methric was crowned Outstanding Rock/Pop Instrumentalist and the Muggs were voted Outstanding Rock Artist/Group at the 2008 Detroit Music Awards. Their critically acclaimed sophomore release, On with the Show, arrived shortly thereafter in May 2008. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
Nice! Can't believe I didn't hear about these guys sooner!

Monster sounds an awful lot like the James Gang.........Can't grab the song in my head right now but it's spot on in places. Good stuff though. Guess there's only so many chords on a guitar.
Hard hitting blues/rock. Wish I knew about them sooner. Huge props to DeNardo for working so hard to return to his passion after his stroke.

Great chops! Sounds a bit like Tommy Bolin guitar work.
Mr. Pixton, I agree. Crap on pop radio now. Not much in the way of serious musicians plying their trade. Would certainly love to hear more of this band - just discovered them. Thanks Pandora!
His voice seems to have a Bon Scott quality to it. Just me?

Saw them in Traverse City, MI last weekend at the Loading Dock and it was freakin' great. We rarely get real rock bands up here and it was a real treat.
I played a show with you guys. My name is Dillon Kuiava from the DEEP END. Possibly one of the best I have ever played. Your guys intenstiy level was something that is hard to come by, especially in our local music scene. We may be going on tour this year so hopefully we will see you in the area.

Jason georg, sorry no info from me, but if you ask me their sweet!
Who are these hot rockers? Do I detect a touch of Joe Walsh influence and sound? I like them but need to know more. Anyone out there with any info?
