Moxy

Buddy Caine, Buzz Sherman, Bill Wade, Earl Johnson and Terry Juric founded Moxy in the mid-'70s. The hard rock band released two albums in both 1976 and 1977 (Moxy, Moxy II, Take It or Leave It and Ridin' High). After Buzz Sherman died in a motorcycle accident, the band recorded A Tribute to Buzz Sherman in 1984. ~ John Bush, Rovi

Mike Reno from Loverboy fame made his debut with this band on the album Under The Lights.

Moxy is one of my favorite Bands. Use to go see them at the Whiskey AGo Go with Judas Priest Buzz was an awesome person. Had a great time taking with the band after the concert..The y were Great Live Band.
Moxy just plain old great rock and roll been listening to them since high school Moonrider Awesome !!!
Every metal genre you'll need right here.
Moxy, especially Ridin' High is one of my all time rockn' bands and always makes cut to my 5 CD turntable every time I load it up. Another favorite from the same time frame is Head East! Both are simple, clean, hard rockn' and get your feet tappn'!!!

I remember a Santana, Moxy, Tommy Bolin show in San Antonio. I think Tommy Bolin canceled due to illness and passed away soon after. Glad I got to see him perform while he was with Deep Purple. I still consider Come Taste the Band as the last of the great DP albums.
It's still exciting to see the line up listed as I have it above. I'm sure we old rockers still get a thrill to see such stuff. Moxy, by the way, is still one of my all time favorites.

I actually had a buddy in college who was flown to Canada to audition after Sherman's death. Needless to say, he did not get the gig. Pandora should include the Ridin' High lp.
If it wasn't for Buzz Shearman dying, they would have been huge.A great underappreci a t e d band.
Simple message that rocks!!!!
I remember when they came to San Antonio,Tx they were bad a**. They are so cool.
they certainly had it and their music rocks on forever
milosdad
Tommy Bolin was more session player and never toured with Moxy.

Yet another example of the uncanny amount of talent that flows through Canada!! You won't find a better trio of albums than this band's first three releases. Things kinda dropped off after Buzz departed the earth despite the addition of Mike Rynoski on Under the Lights. He, of course, later shortened his name to Mike Reno and fronted another Canadian hit-maker, Loverboy.
Not one thing mentioned about the late great Tommy Bolin as an early band member either. Bad bio for an awesome band.

Moxy is one of the 2 greatest 'unknown' rock bands ever IMO. Riot being the other.

this song is one of my favorites its origionally from the lp moxy 2 i have most of moxy,s lps from moxy to raw all are very superb songs and i just cant get enough of this music i love it its the best ...moxy fan forever ........
I can't believe I've never heard of these guys. This is solid hard rock like they just don't make anymore. MORE MOXY please....
I've freakin' died... and I'm back in the 70's!
RIDIN' HIGH lives forever!!!! One of the best, most rockn', kick you in the teeth albums made in the 70's. Get it. Jam to it. And enjoy the celebration of guitar work, killer hard driven'rhyth m s , and Buzz Shearman kick as* vocals. This album is the moment of conception for this band, when they put it all together.

moxy is my favorite band i just love to hear earl johnson,s guitar he plays it very nice i just can,t get enough of his guitar playing it really sounds great any way he plays it and my favorite album is ridin high but i do have all 4 of the first albums starting with moxy, moxy 2, ridin high& under the lights & to mention a few songs of my very favorite songs are another time another place , cause theres another , take it or leave it ,time to move on ,moon rider, wet suit...

Moxy's first two albums set them far and above so many acts of the mid to late 70s who were making a living as posers. This band was the real deal. Play their first album loud and proud! 'Sail On Sail Away' alone should put them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. God Bless Buzz Shearman!
The reviewer misspells the original lead singer's name. His name was BUZZ SHEARMAN (not Sherman). Nobody can ever replace him.
moxy was before there time and alot of people forgot them but they where up there with some of the best rock-n-rolle r s
is moxy named after moxie??
bromide01
Hey, I know John Bush, and he really is ashamed of himself.
Wow.
Moxy is one of the finest basically unknown bands ever. Their first album is so freakin great, I have never gotten tired of listening to it. Not to mention Moxy II, Ridin' High, etc. What else can I say?-(except to say again-they are great!!!!)
one of the best "unknown bands"of the 70's.includi n g but not limited to rockkicks,st a r z , l e g s diamond,diam o n d reo,etc.
This has to be about the shittest review I've ever read on this site! John Bush, you should be ashamed of yourself... There's MUCH more to Moxy than 3 F'N SENTENCES!? C'MON!!
their first album MOXY rocks! It is one of my favs to listen to when I want to here some hard driving good ol rock
