The new line only had 1 original member. They broke up and several members formed riven. Which yet again broke up and now the lead singer angel has formed a band called the alpha complex. The other guys are doing various other projects.
I feel really stupid.... I'm sitting here thinking how the leader singer of Motograter sounds a lot like the 5FDP's leader singer and it turns out they're the SAME person..... I'm such and idiot...... Both amazing bands, btw....

From what I've read these guys moved and and formed a band called Riven, one video on YouTube. Definitely harder and different genre, but not too bad.
That's because it is Ivan Moody. This is the band he was in way before Five Finger Death Punch and before Ghost Machine. Saw Motograter open for Ministry back in the day. Wasn't too impressed until the first album came out and listened to it.
New singer is OKAY and i use that lightly. Ivan steals it all day long. I might as well replace the lead of Motograter now, at least it'll sound better
yes these guys are pretty raw they're f**kin awsome

2002 saw the departure of Godfrey, Gonzales, and Zak. They found a new guitarist in Matt Nuke Nunes, and a new vocalist in Ivan Ghost Moody. In 2003 they released their first major label album entitled Motograter. It was the first Album to feature real guitars instead of samples. Before the album was even released, they added second guitarist JR, and Zak re-joined the band handling electronics/samples and also providing back-up vocals, making the band a 7-piece.

Someone posted years ago about how Motograter is from Santa Barbara, that is false info. The band originally formed in San Antonio, TX in 1995. Original members were Bruce Grater Butler playing the Motograter, Joey Smur Krzywonski on percussion, Chris Crispy Binns on drums, and Zak The Waz Ward on vocals. In 2000 during the recording of their first album, Indy, they added Eric Gonzales who handled electronics and samples. In 2001 they added guitarist Neil Godfrey.
wow motogaters new 2009 demo is f**king awsome and cant wait for the full length album. YES MOTOGRATER IS BACK. You can pick up there album threw AMAZON and i suggest that everyone that loves GRATER should check it out!
All three bands have been headed up by Ivan (Ghost) but each of them has a different feel. FFDP seems to be more to the point and a bit political, Motogrator seems to be more sociological expressing the aggravation with people in general, and ghost machine feel more poetic and cryptic to me. If you get a chance look up "Black Blood" it's another band led by Ivan but never made it to production. They have some great stuff.
After hearing "Down" they remind me a lot of Five Finger Death Punch. From reading their bio and viewing their band picture, it seems like they try too hard.
Motograter is back with a mostly new lineup. saw them in August and they were great! cant wait till they come back in November. Check out the newbreed Motograter I think they are better all around now!

good sound, even better vocals(moody). ya too bad they broke up
These guys were sorta gimmicky with no true direction in their music so it never surprised me a bit that they crumbled almost immediatly. Behind your theatrics, make-up, and bravado you actually have to write good songs and hit a chord with fans that make your music important to them to have staying power in todays music scene. Did you get anything from Motorgrater's debut? The only thing I heard on that record was a group of guys with potential but were not ready for a record deal yet.
They've re-formed with some of the original members, plus a few new, the new lead singer sounds close to Ivan, but not exact. They are recording a new album right now, and keep calling themselves "the New Breed" so I'm guessing it might be the album title, but I'm not sure on that. there's a 30sec. clip on their MySpace of a new song.

Great album. Wish things would have gone better for them.

the singer is the singer from 5 finger death punch that cd is good 2
Five Finger Death Punch is the new group... they got screwed by their production company (elektra) i believe... so they couldn't afford to make any more tours thus no money coming in for the band thus no more albums...
chris_smith05
