Michelle Williams began singing in her church choir, performing her first solo on "Blessed Assurance" at the age of seven at the St. Paul Church of God in Christ in her hometown of Rockford, IL. As she grew up, she sang with the gospel groups United Harmony and Chosen Expression, but doubted she would be able to make a career as a singer and attended two years of college. In May 1999, however, she passed an audition to become a backup singer for Monica and toured with her through October. Then in January 2000, she was invited to join Destiny's Child. Becoming a member of the rapidly emerging superstar group, she was first heard on their number one single "Independent Women Part I" and went on to participate in their massively successful 2001 album Survivor, the holiday release 8 Days of Christmas, and the remix album This Is the Remix. In April 2002, she became the first member of Destiny's Child to issue a solo album, the contemporary gospel collection Heart to Yours. It became the best-selling gospel release of the year. Released in 2004, Do You Know was another gospel set, followed by 2008's secular Unexpected, a glossy dance-pop-leaning album featuring collaborations with StarGate, Solange Knowles, and Rico Love. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi

Isn't this the Michelle Williams who starred as Shug Avery in Color Purple? If so, she was dyn-o-mite in Chicago 2007
The entire album is a blessing, even today the young women in my family ask about it. I used to play it in my car all the time..Only what you do for Christ will last Michelle. B Blessed!
Born July 23, 1980 in Rockford, Illinois and raised in a Pentecostal (COGIC) family, Williams first began singing in her church's choir. She later sang in a musical group called 'United Harmony' with her sister Cameron. After pursuing a degree in criminal justice at Illinois State University, she left to pursue a music career, and sang backup for Monica; I'm so glad she did too!...this has been another Memyai Momment.
LOVE THAT MICHELLE DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO BLESS OTHERS IN THE BODY OF CHRIST WITH HER ANGELIC VOICE! BLESSED ASSURANCE U ARE!:0)

i love how michelle wasn't wantin to go wit the crowd (destinys child) and stay a secular artist. it takes strength to do that. she gave her life to christ. i luv u michelle
I am excited about Michelle transition from gospel to secular and back to gospel. I pray that she will find her complete self in Christ and stick it out with the gospel music because young girls need her to make a stand for Christian music. I can only image the difficulty to be part of two worlds. And I hope that she can make a final stand with gospel and rock it out like Mary Mary. Be blessed Michelle and let God lead your foot steps. I like Michelle, but that dress don't say church girl to me, and that breast pop out a couple of years ago said "Hot Chick" on the loose, I dunno let me not be one to judge... only God can judge :)
This is one of the best gospel albums I've ever heard. I cannot believe people think that Beyonce' is the best singer in Destiny's Child. At any rate, Michelle should stay only gospel, she sounds way better in this genre. I wonder why.....;-)
Sometimes we choose to go out from God to understand His will for usl. Hoping that she will continue to Stand OUT for God only...and be separate, not like everyone else with a foot in the world and a foot with God, He ain't having that! Stand strong with the Lord girl!
I'm very glad she left Destiny's Child, I felt that wasn't her calling anyway, she did stick out like a soar thumb!!! God has truly blessed her!! Thank you for blessing me.

i never heard this song but i love itshe has a beautiful voice wow
This girls voice was truely made for the gospel. I believe she would have stuck with the gospel she would have been better off. But, You live and you learn life's experiences. Destiny's Child just did not fit her and she stood out even then. Your on the right path for you now. May God comtinue to bless you.
