A native of Ontario, Canada, Jones studied classical piano and kept up his chops throughout his college courses in psychology. During seminars he conducted as part of his own business-management consulting practice, he began including interludes of piano improvisations. Finally, after years of encouragement from friends and clients, he released Pianoscapes in 1983. It was the first album ever released on the Narada record label. Over the years, Jones has recorded a number of solo piano and small-ensemble albums. Especially nice is his 1987 duo with cellist David Darling. ~ Linda Kohanov, Rovi
I discovered Michael Jones in 1983. He's still my favorite after all these years and after listening to many other artists. Well, he and George Winston of course.
I am a nearly 30 year fan of Michael. My neighbor back in the eighties once told me what a fantastic pianist I was. I don't own a piano, and cannot even play chopsticks, but I played this music every night on the stereo. Loud enough to sound like I had a Steinway in my little house.
Beautiful music! I have been listening to his music for many years. I bought Sunscapes as a cassette tape, and have enjoyed listening to it for years. I would like to buy it as a CD or otherwise, but it is hard to find. I also have The Living Music, which is very enjoyable also. Keep on composing and performing... You are a unique talent.

I bought both pianoscapes and seascapes and played them so much they wore out (it was casette tapes back then). Beautiful music.

I have been listening to Michael Jones since the early 80's, along with David Lanz. The very first piece of music I picked up was Michael Jones' album "After the Rain" and from then on I have been hooked on their beautiful music. Thanks for pursuing your great talent.
