Ah, Mike, Great talent! allreddan - good comment about Michael's Christmas album. Perfect. I had the pleasure of recording with him in the studio once. I went to Mike directly, to get that album for all my family members.
Michael's music has consistently maintained its place at the very pinnacle of my list of my personal favorites ever since he first came on radar for me in the mid 90s. Every track that I've ever heard from him has always been so very smooth and personally spiritual almost. Always relaxing and very definitely on the same wavelength as that of my soul. I would of course recommend all of his albums, but if you were to own just one it would have to be his very early Christmas album. Hands down the
Very nice sound. Innovative. Popped up on my Keiko Matsui channel. I'll check this guy out further!

I knew him back in college. He played for a local cover band and I played for a another. A class act then as now, though I haven’t lived in town for years. Last saw him in concert with Sam Cardon. Those guys had the talent. It was a pleasure gentlemen . . . even if it was a limited musical acquaintance . ( . . . There, my 15, (seconds), of fame . . . by association. )

great music. I was looking for D. Grusin and found this artist. Really a nice compilation
First I've heard him play, thanks to Pandora (how many closets can you hide in?). He has a great, clear, soft sound on his 'Touch' album. Will definitely 'mark' him on my list. Tasty, quality stuff. I can rank him with Earl Klugh.
I've yet to meet Michael, but I replaced him on a project he was working back in 2003 for a band called CRENSHAW - David Crenshaw. It was an honor filling in for him.

Michael has been one of my favorite guitarists. I rank him up there with Larry Carlton, Jeff Golub, Lee Ritenour, and Peter White, among a few others. Introduced to his music by WNWV The Wave out of Cleveland in 1989 or 1990 (www.wnwv.co m ). They occasionally play his music, but very rarely. Several years back, he performed the crankin' guitar-part in the Monday Night Football opening music. Pandora needs to play songs from his other CD's - great songs.

Michael Dowdle is a very talented guitarist whose jazz stuff is relatively unknown. I was introduced to his music 7 or 8 years ago and ended up buying 2 of the 3 CDs he put out. If you're interested, his main focus lately has been instrumental versions of hymns and inspirational religious music. Very nice for Sunday or quiet time listening...
Puts me in a very thoughtful mood. Right now I'm down in the dumps and this particular song actually lifts my spirit to a better place. Even if it's just temporary.
