Mica Paris

Though stardom has evaded her, English vocalist Mica Paris has a wonderful voice and individualistic delivery and approach. She sang in the Spirit of Watts gospel group before touring and recording in the late '80s with Hollywood Beyond. She signed with 4th and Broadway/Island in the '80s and then issued her debut So Good. Her second LP, Contribution, was released in 1990. Paris moved to Polydor for her third LP, Whisper a Prayer, in 1993. She also recorded with Will Downing in 1989, doing an updated version of "Where Is the Love." ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi

One of my favorite female vocalists. Tamia and Keisha had no business covering her songs. Mica is such a powerhouse. I looove her sultry soulful voice.

i just looked girlfriend up on wikipedia and it says that she has been working consistently through the years, mainly recording and performing, but w/ some dramatic work as well. that's cool-- i like to see folks keep on working and being successful and happy, even if it they did drop out of the proverbial "spotlight".

i love this song still(one temptation) mica paris was so gorgeous and hip, i wonder why she's not singing now. i love her voice. this is a classic song.
Mica Paris has been one of my favorite artists for years. I still find it odd that when I have one of her CDs on, people still ask "who is that?" She is truly a talent that is overdue her recognition!
