New age guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Medwyn Goodall was born in Yorkshire, England; inspired by the hits of the Beatles and the Beach Boys, he began playing music as a child, and at 11 met pop superstar Cliff Richard, who encouraged the youth to pursue a career as a performer. Goodall began composing original songs as a teen, earning local notoriety with his band Trax; in the years to follow, he learned to play a vast range of instruments, including mandolin, piano, drums, harp, flute, glockenspiel, panpipes, vibraphone and synthesizer, and cut his first album at age 16. Following a year at art college, Goodall opened his own recording studio, producing artists spanning from classical ensembles to punk bands; inspired by the natural world, he began creating his own environmental instrumental music, releasing his debut album Angel Sleep on the New World Music label in 1989 and remaining a highly prolific artist throughout the decade to follow. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
I love the Island Bliss album. It's very soothing and inspirational. The Comet album I am just now starting to listen to. ^_^ Have a blessed day my friend. Live long and well in the Kingdom Of The Heart... ^_^
Listening to Amulet. Happy music! Thanks, I needed that right now :-)

What a gifted artist!!1 I am moved to listen, dance, meditate, tap my fingers and feet and smile. I hear neither the Beach Boys or the Beatles but do hear a Peruvian sound. Reminds me of my walks in Cambridge Ma where Peruvian artist played on the street.

really enjoyed this piece & only the first time i heard from this musician & just loved the style!!...awesome!!....has a touch of Peruvian beat...
I discovered Medwyn Goodall's music through his album, Comet, which I found used at a public library sale about eight years ago. I keep hearing the main riff from the song on that CD, Behold The Darkness, on television shows (recently, it was on many episodes of BBC's Merlin series). I hope he is getting credit for it. I am in awe that he has produced over 120 records. That is truly amazing. What a creative person! And the music is so positive. I am thankful for that.

Music is awesome. I don't get the Beatles and Beah Boy influence. Thank God cause I can't stand either one

Also along these spiritual lines and from my Native American heritage, check out Nicole: Passion Spirit; Robert Mirabal (from Taos, NM, where I worked in the Pueblo clinic) and Deuter: Land of Enchantment! Talk about spiritual....this music wafting throughout your home is profoundly life enhancing and serene!

Medicine Woman is a work of genius. Cannot go 5 minutes in a house gathering before someone asks "who's that playing in the background? - got to have it!" As universal as Enya. Pandora-more M. Goodall!

Totem is one of the best songs on this album. Great album!
My intro was the joyous experience of Moon Goddess. Ever since then I have collected about 80% of his albums, I'm still working on the rest.

How do we get Pandora to include more of his work? I've enjoyed it since I heard the first 2 notes of Medicine Woman.

I have heard him criticised for being "prolific'...on WXPN, never knocked for his talent or genius. I enjoy his music and would like to hear more variety of his tunes. My introduction (1990's) to new age jazz was two guys in college who set up their own music genome project on the 'new' internet just to expose the online world to Medwyn Goodall's music.
Thank you for sharing your gift with us... It frees my mind from the noise of the world. Allowing me to slow down and listen. hope our paths cross again.

Medwyn feeds my spiritual soul with a passion. He opened my mind too since 1995. I also say that Pandora should , be playing his other albums ( New Dawn, Medicine Woman, Medicine Woman II, Celtic music. I absolutely love his music. Ü
This man is a master. Medwyn Goodall's Arthurian collection is extraordinary. Albums like Grail Quest, Merlin and others like Visions are entrancing. Wonderful music! I hope Pandora gets licenses for these and others of his collected work. One album isn't enough!

I haven't been listening to Medwyn's music that long but I enjoy it for the classical sound of it and the way he brings the different instruments together
YAY! I love Med - I've been illustrating his CD covers for years! He's a sweetheart with a wicked sense of humor! Thanks for letting me brag.
LOVE Pandora! Peace, Lisa Iris http://www.lisairis.bizland.com
