After the demise of his long-time group, the Freddy Jones Band, Chicago native Marty Lloyd took the initiative to begin a solo career and started work on his debut album, Marigold, in his home studio. He courted veteran producer Justin Niebank (with whom he worked during his tenure in the Freddy Jones Band), his former FJB bandmate Rob Bonaccorsi, Michael Rhodes of Shawn Colvin's group, and others to help piece Marigold together. Due to Lloyd's previous experience in the music industry, he chose not to shop the recording to labels until it was completely finished to avoid sacrificing his vision, and it paid off when Razor &Tie released Marigold in May of 2003. ~ Gregory McIntosh, Rovi

Used to go see FJB at Mabel's in Champaign, IL back in the early 90's. Caught a new years eve show in Chicago and another at Hard Rock in Phoenix, Az. Last show was Flagstaff, Az and they were recording at the time. Awsome memories and glad to see that Marty is carrying this forward!

FJB was/is one of my favorite bands when I was going to Holy Cross College they used to play in South Bend all the time before they got signed....th o s e were great times I will never forget

I was so disappointed to hear that FJB was no longer. I was glad that the essence had continued in Marty however.
