Born in Germany but later based out of Miami, Markus Schulz is a club DJ who also hosts the influential radio show Global DJ Broadcast. Schulzs career began in the early 90s when he remixed artists such as Madonna, 2 Unlimited, Backstreet Boys, and RuPaul. In 2005 he made his album debut with Without You Near, a set of productions released on Armada. In 2009, the label would release Thoughts Become Things, an album credited to Schulzs alias Dakota. A second Dakota effort, Thoughts Become Things II, would follow in 2011. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
Haha im a hippie and ended up at ultra he was one of the djs i remember cause i had to ask the ppl around me who the f**k was this lol?? State of trance for real!! Hippy festivals are still my fave like variety of musica
first started listening to Markus at the Works in 1997 - after that it was many desert parties and clubs mostly with my sister Jayni - his sets at the Works were legendary and timeless..... Also have many fond memories of his Edge Factor sets on Saturday nights from 12am to 4am here in Arizona - me and Jayni were also invited to his house one Sunday for a barbecue and got to see his record collection and hear him spin in his kitchen - WOW what an experience that was - we miss you here in AZ
In case you haven't found them yet, someone luckily taped some of Markus's EdgeFactor sets in the mid-90s and put them on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJzLwGP3_iw&feature=BFa&list=SPFD609B97FD3461C8
Where are his Thoughts Become Things I and II albums? The style on those albums is what shaping his current sound. This cannot be an accurate Schulz station without them.

"i cant sing without the computer", she said. "that's ok", i chuckled. "the computer cant sing without you either".
I love everything that he does... his sessions are so dynamic! Look on Itunes and see if he has his Electric Area sessions off Sirius XM... I was listening to it earlier tonight and just had my mind blown, as always whenever I hear a new set that he has put together... Especially the song UFO something... anyone know what song.
Arizona misses you Marcus! I am grateful to have gotten to see him back when he was spinning at local parties and clubs, so many great memories! Its awesome to see someone develop and grow as an artist over the years, now being such a wide spread influence on the EDM scene, what a great feeling that must be..keep up the good work
there hasnt been enough said about Markus Schulz yet,, wait to see the furture of this kind of music , its in his hands , and will move the young masses into electronic music .

Had my first Schulze experience at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, FL last weekend. He was amazing and is now one of my favorites.

Listening to Markus in the mix at The Works in Scottsdale was the best. I had the opportunity to first hear him while working at Jay's Brazil as a waiter....such a humble, talented guy. Just around the time you met Heather and began dating, now married - WOW, I am sure dating myself...
Markus's Mix double cd Toronto 2009 (not artist album) has become a very moving experience for me. It took several listens, but its power and depth and breadth surfaced with massive impact.
cyoung you have been to the works. wow thatg place was great. i had so much fun there. i actually met Markus on many occations. we had mutual friends. good to see he has become successful.
