Los Pikadientes de Caborca are a regional Mexican group whose debut single, "La Cumbia del Río," was a Top Ten hit in 2008. The song's popularity began on YouTube, where multiple users posted humorous videos of themselves dancing to the song. The viral appeal of "La Cumbia del Río" attracted Sony BMG, which quickly signed Los Pikadientes to its Norte subsidiary and gave the song a big promotional push in the U.S. marketplace.
