Music that never ages. Los Indios Tabajaras are fantastic artists. I listened to Maria Elena 40 years ago and I still do not tire of listening every time that i have a chance.
Who did the original Maria Elena that was released somewhere around 1959 to 1962. That was the one I was looking for but Los Indios' version is really good too.
I purchased all of their albums -vinyl, of course- way way back. Johnny Carson had these two guys on his show. Gave them the exposure they needed to get popular. Glad to see that their music is still liked! If you like this kind of traditional music from Paraguay, check out some of the Cd's featuring Paraguayan Harp music. It will knock you out!!
Very nice. Can't believe I've never heard this before. I learned of this duo from a compilation album called Blue Suenos.

Actually, There is a mistake, the song is "Pajaro Campana", and in Spanish means, Bell Bird, is a guarani leyend, very popular in Paraguay, Id say is almost like the national anthem.
Coming from a Clasical background, and loving guitar, I enjoy Eliot Fisk, The Romeros, etc. But...there is something magical about the brother's romance with guitar stings..... They breath soul into every note.....

These guys make a guitar sing like angels.

They are truly awsome....to bad theres not another like them today
There was not, there is not and there will not be another pair of guitars like "Los Indios Tabajaras". They are the Most polished and sophisticated musicians in history. Nobody can play the guitar like they do. Listen to "La Ronde de Lutins", or Chopin on their guitar, or "Blue Angel" that they wrote, "Flight Of the BumbleBee", or Tchaikoiski and you will understand what I'm talking about. Their mastery of the guitar, their arrangements and their taste is unmatchable.
