Many times I wondered why Houses of the Holy wasn't on the album with the same name, but that's another topic for another time. Over the hills and far away we have gone and will hope to continue to go, God Only Knows, wait, thats the Beach Boys. This is Led Zeppelin............
Gang I think it simply comes down to this; in rock there's Led Zeppelin and then there is everybody else. For purist Zeppelin could reach into the roots of Rock and go to slammin like the way the Hulk grabbed hold of Loki in the Avengers movie. When they take you through a live set and finish you off with Black Dog after opening up with Rock and Roll (who can open up with the sheer unparalled energy of R & R and still have a mountain of blues rock to climb while the valleys are laced with Kas
Overrated? Based on what, exactly? I put forward their Royal Albert Hall 1969 show as evidence to the contrary. Or heck, even the '79 Knebworth show where they're all old and sweaty is still tight. But hey, if you're feeling alone in your opinions, check out the Yngwie Malmsteen page for comments calling Jimi Hendrix sloppy...

Way overrated as a live band. More likable and probably more varied songwriters and better producers than Deep Purple. But no better performers, they're sloppy, oh so sloppy.

Best Zep ever? Ten Years Gone, That's The Way and Fool in the Rain.
I have a copy of the vinyl, I remember looking at it and saying what only 1 song on this side must be a miss print, but no it wasnt and well worth the whole side of an album.
You're wrong. It's on the reissue, so you're half right as it was not on the original release. How many had the original vinyl release that had the 26+ minute Dazed and Confused devouring one whole side of an LP?

Correct me if I'm wrong but this song is not on the "Then Song Remains the Same
The studio version was much much better because Plants voice was strained when they recorded the live version. He couldn't hit the high notes of the studio version, so they altered the song. However, the guitar work ain't too bad on the live version.

Studio version way better my a**! Led Zep is the hardest rocking live band to ever have existed.
This song has such a funky beat compared to the original track. Bonham anf Jones really keep things moving. Page just dances beautifully all over the fabric of the song.
the song is so good even when the end is playing out it seems to just go on to infinity, maybe in some other dimension, lol you get what i mean the main chorus riff is just so simple and meaningful
