actually i still like this song--chorus and lead break still something i like as much as i did when i first heard it at nine years old. but then, i am just a big kid anyway.
Roots rock? Motown? Ha ha, whatever. It's worth noting that even Kiss tend to belittle this song--they attempted too many anthems by this point, and this one just didn't have the same power or freshness of either "Rock n Roll All Night" or "Shout it Out Loud." Interstingly, the next song that Pandora just came up with after this one was "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey!
I really thought this was something special when I was eleven years old. Now it sounds like a tune for an eleven year old boy, but they were serious! It's almost funny. I guess you could say it's kinda roots-rock. I think of Motown when I hear it.
