Vocalist/bassist David Diamond, keyboard player Sonny Keyes, drummer Max Styles and guitarist Mister Zero founded the Kings in Ontario in 1979. Somewhere between new wave and rock, the band released a 1980 single, "Switchin' to Glide," that did well in the U.S. as well as Canada. The Kings Are Here appeared the same year, but the band faded quickly; a re-formed Kings appeared in the mid-'90s, and recorded Unstoppable. ~ John Bush, Rovi
I have had the pleasure of working with a bunch of 80's bands since I worked with a sound and lighting company. I have worked with over 400 bands in 10 years and The Kings are one of the better and nicer guys that I have worked with. Very profeswsional and very old school. no ear deafing guitar solos ( but I do enjoy those too with such bands as Ozzy and Iron Maiden). Cheesy vocals as Chux put it, kinda funny since there are bands out there today stealing bands from the 80's lyrics.

this is a pretty sweet band it does sound like Queen alot but thats not a bad thing
Too bad little Chux obvously has a very, very bad set of speakers and an even smaller head. The Kings are The Kings. Best straight up rock of the 80's.
Barf. These guys sounded like they were trying to craft radio friendly nu-wave butt rock. This is the "best rock band you've never heard"? I just hope I never hear it again. Cheesy vocals and choruses. Sometimes with Pandora, you find a gem, sometimes you find a turd. This is Turd City.
Absolutely the BEST ROCK BAND YOU'VE NEVER HEARD! These guys are the best, both on and off stage. If I were Emperor, they'd be in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. They're that good! I wish Pandora would add the Unstoppable and Because of You albums. But YOU can -- just go to their website at www.thekingsarehere.com -- or heck, just Google "The Kings" and they'll come right up. Hint: look for their DVD comming out this spring.
