Few new bands have caused as much of a stir with the release of their debut single and few have, simultaneously, generated so much backlash as German hard rockers Kingdom Come did with "Get It On." Mistaken by many fans as a reunion of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the quintet was derisively known to some as "Kingdom Clone." Signed to Polydor, lead singer Lenny Wolf put together a band and entered the studio with producer Bob Rock, an engineer and musician who would later find success working with Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and Metallica. When "Get It On" was leaked to several radio stations around the U.S., it generated considerable buzz due to the speculation of the "mystery" band. The Zeppelin comparisons were enough to bolster early sales and the record shipped gold as "Get It On" became a sizable AOR hit and the band took part in the Monsters of Rock tour with acts like Van Halen and the Scorpions. However, a heavy backlash soon followed and subsequent releases from their self-titled debut failed to make much impact on radio. Kingdom Come entered the studio to record a follow-up with producer Keith Olsen at the helm. The resulting In Your Face, released in 1989, did little to quell the Zeppelin comparisons or to reverse the act's decline in commercial clout. The ensuing tour saw Kingdom Come collapse and all the original members, save for Wolf, leave the band. Wolf would carry on, releasing Hands of Time under the Kingdom Come banner in 1990, but the album stiffed and, along with the emergence of grunge, sealed the act's fate in the U.S. Kingdom Come would continue to release new material throughout the '90s and into the new century, but it was mostly limited to issue in Wolf's native Germany. ~ Tom Demalon, Rovi
Where's all the other albums!?!?!?! They just released Outlier this week too.

with out a doubt, Lenny and the bands he put togther over the years, under the name KingdomCome, One of my favorites. I have all the stuff he put out. You ever heaed version two of 'Get it On' WoW!!!!
Amazes me that so many folks think a new band that arrives and sounds like someone they think they do, somehow finds a unkind word to say, I dont get it. At least they can play and sing that has to count for something, I know cause I play the drums, so I appericate the effort and time it goes into just putting 1 song togather. You think you can do BETTER? then lets hear something you got, I am all ears brother ;)

It is nice to see that there are some Kingdom Come fans here who know what they are talking about without rehashing the Led Zeppelin comparisons from the early days. And yes, Kingdom Come is still alive and well with 13 more releases since the debut. The new album Rendered Waters is due out on March 25 2011 and it is awesome! A remake of the Stone Fury tune Break Down The Walls is the last track and the wall of sound the guitars produce make it good enough to be released again as a KC single.
Stone Fury was good. Got that one, too. I love this guy's stuff. Sorry to be a heretic and risk anger from Led Zep fans, but I'd rather hear Lenny Wolf rock out every year with the same hard rock than the lame moody countrified folksy stuff that Robert Plant does now. What a disppointment. At least Lenny continues to be consistent. His music is redundant, but powerful and he doesn't sell out. I own everything he's done-love the energy.
Lenny still has the bad going strong (different members of course), google them on the web and you'll see that they have a dozen or so releases. I have all of their releases to date and Lenny's working on another as I type this.
I agree about the Zep controversy. There were 90 million bands out there that emulated Zep and countless other bands for that matter. These guys had some real talent and a great sound.

mi likey. I AM FROM MEXICO BUTT I NO GOODE MUSIK WEN I HERE IT. i likey the manee veritee of musik here. AMERICA HAS BEENE SOO GOODE TO MI. THANK YU.
Danny (guitar player) was a friend of mine and I used to go to the studio and watch them rehearse when they first got together. They were fantastic even rehearsing and what you hear here or on the radio is exactly what they used to sound like live night after night. Certainly miss them and their sound. For all the comparisons to other groups, they were truly unique at the time and each band-member had more talent than any of their peers running around LA. You have to be a great band to be comp
I agree Totaly awsome band !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want more i do like it

This was a great band. The media are the ones who made the comparison and led the way to smearing their name. I remember hearing them on the radio when "Get It On" came out and thats all the dj's spouted was that they sounded like Led Zeppelin. I find it hard to believe that Lenny Wolf woke up one morning and said "lets rip off Led Zeppelin with my similar voice". Such crap!! I always thought Great White was a lot closer to sounding like the Zep than Kingdom Come.
They were alright in a Spinal Tap meets Led Zepplin in the gay toilets kind of way. Kingdom Come "In Your Face"...give me a break. Why didn't they just call the record "Smell the Glove"? STUPID STUPID STUPID.
