Pianist Karen Marie Garrett was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. She began taking piano lessons at the age of five and later studied with Carolyn O. James of the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. Her first album, Classical Serenity, consisted entirely of classical works. Pensare, her second, combined more classical pieces with works by film composer Frank Sanucci. Garrett sent the album to new age guitarist and producer Will Ackerman, who then produced her third album, Allure of Sanctuary (November 8, 2005), which was her first to feature some of her own original compositions. Ackerman also produced her fourth album, It's About the Rose (January 2007), which consisted entirely of originals. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi

Wonderful and soulful music to listen to while working or reading.
I can listen to this when I'm in the mood for it, but I don't care about how hard these types worked. Classicism - the age of realism - is where I am at. Who was the female pianist. who got busted screwing her male students? O' they are sensual. Well it was soothing, but I can't their personality types; which is why 'Sojo' deals with the musicians.
I rarely write comments on anything, but this music is so magical and beautiful, I am compelled to send my appreciation. Thank you for providing a moment in my day, when I just have to stop, listen and enjoy!

Your music is quietly passionate...beautiful. Thank you.
I listen to a lot of SOFT piano, but Karen is the GURU of piano that touches you deep into the heart. I am sooo thankful for her and the Light she brings into my heart. I never tire of her music and cannot bring myself to turn it of until the end of the piece. THANK YOU, YOU ARE A BLESSING.
Your music is so beautiful I choke up. I hafta pause it, grab a kleenex, and start it again. What a mellow old piano. I'm buying your music from Amazon. Also Ludovica Einaudi and Thad Fiscella.
very calming. it's dripping serenity, and i want to listen to it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and ov
Hey! If you like this folks, and I love it, check out Classical Guitar and then Ottmar Liebert + Luna Negra. The guy is a German and plays Spanish Flaminco Guitar to die for. They compliment eachother in their ability to knock your sox off or sooth your soul, which ever. I've been bearfoot and tranquil for weeks. The ambiance of Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach...et al. will sooth the savage beast aswell. You just goddah pick one that fits your level of savage with soxs. Chow. DMB
I'm sitting in the loft of a converted barn on the east side of Seneca Lake, NY, with a soft rain spelling new messsages on the blue, and further, the breeze and the ripple of the creek flowing into the lake are serenaded by a woman with a piano. Reminds me of my daughter's 'cello, and the peace I take with me to make a spiritual afternoon and beyond.
Wish she would play a venue here in the Portland Metro one day, her work takes one by the hand and leads you through the Master's work without becoming overbearing...

I love listiening to Pandor, one morning while in the shower a haunting piano piece came on my iwhatever. I nearly broke my neck trying to see who the artist was. Karen's music is a lite touch on the soul.
I'm going through some sadness in my life and listening to her music just evoked so much emotions that tears started flowing, and I couldn't hold back. It totally captivated my tortured soul; I love music that speaks volumes without saying a word. Timeless classic and elegance. I wish I was half as talented. :-) Thanks for injected a piece of sensitivity to my otherwise harsh existence.
