Consider Josh Kelley a fan of Napster. The Georgia native was studying at the University of Mississippi and writing songs on the side when, in a happy Internet accident, some MP3s of his work made their way onto Napster and into the hands of an A&R rep for Hollywood Records. Kelley eventually signed with the label and released his debut album, For the Ride Home, in June 2003. The album slowly built steam, with listeners responding well to Kelley's affable, John Mayer-ish sound. "Amazing" fared well as a single, landing on the soundtrack to the Kate Hudson vehicle Raising Helen and earning heavy airplay on Top 40 radio. Kelley returned in August 2005 with Almost Honest, which produced another Adult Top 40 hit with "Only You." Just Say the Word followed in 2006.
Soon after Just Say the Word's release, Josh's younger brother, Charles Kelley, began earning his own fans as a member of Lady Antebellum. Josh continued focusing on soulful pop music in 2008, releasing three albums -- Special Company, the digital Backwoods, and the Target exclusive To Remember -- before embracing his Southern roots and signing with MCA Nashville in 2009. Georgia Clay, his seventh solo effort and first country album, appeared two years later. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
I saw him at the Oyster Festival in Ocean Isle Beach,NC. He was awesome!! Really enjoyed the show, it was the highlight of the festival!

I heard him play for the first time when I was visiting my daughter in Winston-Salem NC at his brother's restaurant. I must admit that I was not much on Country Music until that night. Now, that is all I listen to. Hopefully he will be back to Wintson soon!!!
Saw him live in St. Paul when he was touring with OneRepublic and The Daylights in like '08, right after Special Company came out. He was AWESOME then, and I can't wait to see him now!!
Josh came in my music store all the time when he was here in Oxford. I sold him the 4 track recorder that he used to get signed by Hollywood records. When he recorded his first songs, he gave me a CD, and I told him his songs were great. Josh is the nicest guy you will meet, and one of the best songwriters in the music industry. Most of the artist today don't write their music, can't sing, and don't play a instrument past 5 or 6 chords. Josh is the real deal! Get his new CD "Georgia Clay" today!

Still think Almost Honest is his best album... just putting it out there.
Cain and Able is an awesome song indeed - didn't realize he went to Ole Miss - that's only 70 miles from here...

I saw Josh and his brother Charles along with Dave Haywood about 5 years ago here in Augusta, their hometown. Amazing show. Having both the brothers up there, giggling like school girls while passing a bottle of wine back and forth was hilarious. Josh is coming back at the end of this month for a benefit concert for his father's foundation. Definitely going to show up there! His concerts are laid back and always a good time.
I was fortunate to see Josh live and meet him at a company awards meeting several years ago. He is a great live performer, and a genuinely nice person. He took the time to talk to every person who wanted to meet him. (Nice job snagging Kathryn Heigl as a wife too)

Just as a side note, Josh is a pretty darn good golfer. I believe he even played at Ole Miss. He was on a Golf Channel series called Road Trip that was filmed along Myrtle Beach, SC and included Mark Bryan from Hootie and the Blowfish.
i love "Just say the Word"! that is one of my favorites! i really like his brother too. He is the lead singer in Lady Antebellum. they are both very talented. i think i prefer Charles Kelley to Josh. SORRY JOSH! still like ya though! =)

I hate when people compare John Mayer with others.
i would say josh kelley's voice is very strong, stronger than mayer's but i think that john mayer is a more talented guitar player and music composer, the lyrics between the two are written in such different styles that you cant compare them both are excellent artists though
I've met Josh personally, he's a great dude. And if you're lucky enough to see him make stuff up as he goes along during a live performance.... well, its certainly worth seeing. :D
He is an amazing artist!! I've loved his music since he first came out. My favorite songs are Amazing, I Saw You, Almost Honest, Too Good To You, Lover Come Up, Only You, Just Say the Word and Fools Like Me. (no way I can choose just one) I've seen him perform twice and both were fantastic shows. At one of the shows he came out and signed autographs and took pictures and talked to people. He was so nice. Both times I saw him was in Chicago. He needs to come back again!
