♥♥♥♥ John Mayer! He makes the guitar cry and sing at the same time. CONTINUUM is my favorite Mayer album!! Gravity is my favorite song. I cry everytime I hear the intro guitar riff it just grips my soul. I will always love my G man TAG!
You're right I don't understand, talk to me so that I can, I don't know what to think, I'll see you tomorrow, and i don't need anyone to come and save me I just needed a friend
slow dancing in a burning room is like saying that they are carrying on with there relationship but its going down hill and there is nothing they can do about it, its very meaningful and i can very much relate to it.
a seductive, romantic sound to an ending relationship. very good production by John Mayer

Ok JM - get out of my head!!
I personally can relate to most of his songs & actually prefer to interpret them in my own way - certainly not stagnet &/or shallow - rather becoming personal & meaningful!

It may be all about experience. SOme have more than others...like appreciating a work of art.

This song is just like Waiting on the World to Change in that all it's saying is how things are, no suggestion of a resolution or have a deep inner meaning and therefore it's means nothing. Most people will relate to both songs because it's just a state of being but there's nothing more to it than that. Stagnant. No pondering on it. Has no meaning other than what he's saying. Shallow. This is why this album didn't win best album of the year at the Grammys.

Very emotional song. Wouldn't expect anything less from JM. It reminds me of All We Ever Do Is Say Goodbye
The flames could be a metaphor for passion and how it consumes you in a relationship (a good thing) as we cort in a slow dancing fashion. The result is the end or death of the world as we knew it. Passion sneaks up on you and takes hold of you while your dancing around the flames. Beautiful song.
Why would you ladies want to be romanced to this song. It's about a relationship that is falling apart and you both know it's over and you still hang on. You're slow dancing in a burning room! That's not a good thing?
I love this song. There's something very sexy about it...just the smoothness of it...but I don't usually listen to music for the lyrics so maybe some of the lyrics in this one aren't sexy at all, given the title. Anyway, this is my favorite John Mayer song.
This song is so perfect...describes the relationship between me an my ex perfectly. It describes exactly how you feel when you know you're not working, but you still love each other and you don't know what to do.

It's a sad song but I love it!!!

This is a hot track, no doubt! Definitely not a couples song, maybe a break-up song though if you are into wallowing :-)
