I'm gonna go ahead and agree with mjt here. John WAS indeed a prick. (Yea, yea...go ahead and crucify me) Nice people don't generally write songs about being insanely jealous or controlling or abusive etc. He was also a heroin junkie in his later life. Can't taint what the Beatles accomplished tho. Love 'em all

Please, please. He starts whistling. This is an unreliable narrator. He is not writing in his voice. He is creating a manipulative , abusive character. This is John Lennon's great, dark sense of humor. "Watch out; look out, baby." See also: "Run For Your Life" from Rubber Soul. Anyone with me??

Ah, I love this song. I prefer Mother (such a sad song. Fun fact: the game series Mother was named such because the developer, who is Japanese, heard that song and it made him cry), but this song is still amazing.

While this is a great song, whistling is not the mark of a great song. Just remember back to "Winds of Change" by the Scorpions. Not a great song.
listen to patience or civil war by guns n' roses both have whistling in the songs.

Lennon's best solo recording. Beatiful production going hand-in-hand with heartfelt and earnest lyrics. You got to love Lennon's whistling. His whistling sounds better than most other singer's harmonica playing. Looking at you Bono. Maybe I'm just jealous. :)
