Jae, I'm with you. I thought this was someone covering Til You Come Back to Me when I heard the intro. I like some of Legend's work, but this one is a ridiculous rip-off.

I do like some of Legend's stuff, but Jae, I ask the same thing. Surely you have to credit a melody when it's identical to the original. I would find it hard to believe the liner notes don't say anything about it. If they don't, Legend has "some 'splaining to do", as Ricky Ricardo would say. This situation is like "Greensleeve s " melody by Henry VIII, with "What Child Is This" written to fit. Or the Toys' "Lover's Concerto" written to a tune attributed to Bach.
I'm not a John Legend fan, let me say that right up front. And, this song is basically the music from 'Til You Come Back to Me' with different words. But, there's no acknowledgem e n t of that. So, if this isn't a remake (which it can't be with different words), what is it? Also, while on the subject of weird musical things - why in the HELL did Elvis Presley's estate sue Michael Jackson for having a song with the same name - Heartbreak Hotel - even though the music and lyrics were different.
