I'm a big fan of hard bop or early jazz, artist like Horace Silver, Clifford Brown, early Miles, Sonny Rollins etc. But this album without a doubt is the best duo ever recorded. I have it on reel to reel, cassett, vinyl, and CD.
I was first exposed to Hartman, in 1963 (in Germany), when I bought the John Coltrane Johnny Hartman album (I have it on CD too. I can't get enough of him, love his voice & we lost a great entertainer, when he passed.
the best duet album ever. John is the smooth and his tone is excellent.Johnny voice and excellent he sings effortless. his tone is relaxing and smooth. like Nate King Cole you understand ever word. I would recommend this album to everyone over thirty.
I discovered Johhny Hartman's music through Clint Eastwood's production of the Monterrey Jazz Festival. Henceforth, I don't hink that I can live without listening to his voice and appreciatiang his musicianship.
