Anyone remember the Northern Exposure episode in which this song was being played by Chris at the radio station, and one of the last things we saw was Marilyn with her headphones on, just groovin to the tune as she walked along? Absolute perfect ending for that particular episode.

if you went by numbers than Britnay Spears is one of the greats. Hendrix had one hit, he was never a star, but he reinvented music and thats what makes him GREAT. dont worry he still has his guitar WATCH OUT!
Hey Joe is the song. Otis Taylor's cover of it,is pretty damn close. It's not Jimi but it's damn good.

When I was a kid, I thought Hendrix *wrote* Hey Joe. To me, Hendrix' version is still the standard all the other covers are measured against.
