Eighties teenyboppers the Jets came from an extremely large family (17 children overall) and were comprised of eight of the family's brothers and sisters -- Leroy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth, and Moana Wolfgramm (their parents originally emigrated to the U.S. from the South Pacific nation of Tonga, in 1965, but their offspring were raised in Minneapolis). From 1986 though 1989, the Jets enjoyed several dance-pop hits (tops being "Crush on You" and "You Got It All"), as well as several full-length albums, two of which (their 1986 self-titled debut and 1987's Magic) obtained gold and/or platinum certification. But like all past bubblegum acts, the Jets' shelf life proved to be fleeting, as the hits dried up shortly thereafter (the first member to leave the group was Eugene, who split in 1988 to form Boys Club with Joe Pasquale, going by the name Gene Hunt). Although little was heard from the Jets during the early '90s, most of the group had re-formed by the latter part of the decade as a more gospel-oriented outfit, issuing such albums as 1997's Love Will Lead the Way. By the dawn of the 21st century, the other brothers and sisters of the family who were too young to join in on the fun during the '80s had formed their own group, imaginatively called...the Jetts. ~ Greg Prato & Steve Huey, Rovi
Loved the Jet's. Remember seeing them in concert in San Diego with various artists like Jermaine Stewart, Fresh Prince, and Taylor Dayne. Those were the days my friend, I'd thought they'd never end....
Youv've Got It All was an outstanding song for young peiople during the late eighties. I just Love it. I had someone purchase it after only hearing it about three times.

I love these guys. But, then again I'm partial to anything from the Islands and the Phillipines. It could be any Island and I would still be partial to it. I love the Islands what can I say? You find ALOT of great things on islands. Including some really great singers and musicians. And very intelligent people as well. Daughters half Islander/Asian. She's Eurasian because she's half white like me with a Med/Euro background and half Asian Islander.
In looking back, the Jets were actually very talented, and are another prime example of the timeless quality of great music. I hope they are all doing well!
I was impressed when I 1st saw their video on BET's Video Soul in 87-88. I sure am glad to hear them again on Pandora. I wonder if I can find their gospel songs..
Oh my gosh I'm totally one of the teenyboppers that followed the JETs - how did you know, cause I never told - you found out, I got a crush on you. OMG!

I've loved the Jets since I was little - even got to see them in concert once!
I wonder what became of them? They sure rocked me as a teenager. How did they learn to sing and play so good?

I dislike the 80's, but many of these songs were so powerful and so meaningful and made such a great impact in my life that I can't help but be transported back in time...wishing I could go back. Errr.
