Singer/songwriter Jennifer Kimball first emerged during the early '80s as one half of the Story, a folk-pop duo she co-founded with Jonatha Brooke while both were students at Boston's Amherst College. Signed to Elektra in 1991, the Story issued a pair of major-label LPs, Grace in Gravity and Angel in the House, before disbanding in 1993; Kimball then continued on as a solo performer, issuing her debut, Veering from the Wave, in mid-1998. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
We find ourselves reflecting on the meaning of Jennifer's songs at unexpected moments in our own lives, triggered by her startlingly accurate portraits of the heart's meandering, organic, coevolutionary ways. Her backing musicians (and her band's instrumental choices and orchestrations) are always so right, so fully aligned to her voice and meaning. We simply love Jennifer for this uncanny thing she--and she perhaps alone in this era--does to remind us of the independent life of our hearts.
Jennifer Kimball's music stands nearly alone for her lyrical richness, her heart-centeredness, and her capacity to transport her audience inside a deeply textured, heightened experience of daily life and relationships. We don't just listen to Jennifer's songs; we inhabit them.

Jennifer is wonderful - I'm part of her cult following here in Cambridge. Happily.
