I just read that, when Brown was inducted into the Hall of Fame, it was in violation of the Hall's policy of the artist's first record needing to be released 25 years prior in order to be eligible. Brown's solo work had actually begun much later, and the Hall had obviously viewed his work with the Famous Flames as just James Brown (as it has usually been labeled). This made omitting the Famous Flames illegal and in 2012 the Flames were inducted to compensate for the embarrasing mistake.

When the Hall did their retroactive induction of backing groups, their choice of inducting the Famous Flames surprised me. You never see the songs labeled as James Brown and the Famous Flames.
I just saw a picture of mr. browns grave and I could hardly believe my own eyes, it was such a small head - Stone for such a big legend, it almost brought tears to my eyes. when I heard that morning that he had passed away, it made the rest of that Christmas day a sad one for me. I guess the good lord wanted to hear some to life soul music , maybe god got tired of hearing the king of rock .
