Tonya Kelly grew up in Chicago listening to jazz vocalists such as Sarah Vaughan and Nat Cole. Joi Marshall is also from the Windy City, but her parents raised her on Motown, especially Diana Ross. The third member of Jade, Di Reed, grew up in Houston singing gospel anywhere she could. This '90s R&B trio from diverse backgrounds hit big with their first three singles: "I Wanna Love You," "Don't Walk Away" and "One Woman." Their gold debut album JADE to the Max sparked a lengthy tour and spots on The Tonight Show, Arsenio and the U.K.'s Top of the Pops. For their second album, Kelly, Marshall and Reed co-wrote five of the songs and produced the a cappella intro and closing piece. Mind, Body & Song was released in 1994. ~ John Bush, Rovi
Wow this song really takes me back to the 90's, darnnit right after me and my long time beau spit up all of a sudden here comes this song. Mr. Do Right, sister had to blast it for him on a few occasions, when he was trying to get back...Power to the WOMEN...
It's really too bad, when you get use to good music and wonderful groups, they just fade into the sunset....Jade made wonderful music....where are they? Maybe we should try to get them on Unsung (hmmmmm).

These type of groups were churned out of the music 'factory' in the 90's, all of them sound the same, with the same cheesy background beat. Is this Jade or SWV or En Vogue or one of the other endless varieties of the same group? "Yes, we the drones will buy whatever music you produce and we will mindlessly move our bodies to your manufactured rhythms. Please do not expect anymore of us."
Joi Marshall went solo and has an album called Star Kitty's Revenge. She has great songs on this album. There is one particular song called "munchies for your love", that I love so mvery much. YOu can listen to the album straight through and enjoy it. Have fun guys!
