It is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song to play.
The music should be playing soon.

I remember waking up to the news of his surreal death-radio alarm-literally thought I head dreamt it. Unfortunately one of the very greatest towering geniuses of music was gone. No one is better; count on one hand his peers.
Jaco is unparalleled. He blew the doors wide open, and revealed a whole new world of expression on the electric bass. He's one of the major gods in my musical pantheon.
Interesting, the things you can learn about artists as great as this that you've never heard of before, despite having a rather deep musical palette. I liked what I heard and gave the tune a thumbs up. If you like hard rock (as I said, I have a deep musical palette), check out Ray West radio on Pandora stations. Think of it as Mel Torme in a really really bad mood... (great singer, but a walking powder keg). I love the bios on here.
Saw the Thunder Tour last year with Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten. Clarke said "ONE CRUCIAL GUY IS MISSING FROM THIS STAGE: THE GREAT JACO PASTOURIS". Then Stanley Clarke proceeded to blow away everyone on the stage and in the audience with his absolutely incredible playing. Too bad Jaco couldn't be there. He was the only one that PERHAPS could have matched Stanley Clarke's greatness on the instrument. It's great to hear solid local players that emulate Jaco, what a sound!

I was sitting right in front of Jaco when he recorded "The Birthday Concert" in Dec/1981 at Mr. Pip's in Ft. Lauderdale. He was so on it that night! At another show in Ft. Lauderdale, I saw Stanley Clarke(1984). I kept seeing this strange cat in the artist's bathroom. Later Jaco comes bounding up on stage to play his bass with Stanley and his band, I almost fell out of my chair! His hair was cut in a crewcut, etc. Stanley later said it was the only time they ever jammed...(Birdland, School Days)
I wish he was still alive and of course well. It would be wonderful to see and hear him these days. I wonder how far he could have taken the electric bass. He was indeed the master.
His is a sad story. I saw him live solo in 82-83? The show started out with the expected amazing, but halfway through Jaco flipped out at the audience because his conga player didn't get an ovation after a somewhat un-remarkable solo. I had idolized the guy before that and was somewhat heartbroken by the experience. I couldn't take it and ended up walking out early. I still love listening to everything he recorded. The Live Joni Mitchell stuff is perfection. Mental illness is not funny.
by far the best...RIP master Jaco...you are truly missed. I have listened, you transcend the boundaries between what the instrument is and what you would have it be...brilliant...
I had the pleasure of seeing Jaco wail in Berkeley in 1978 with Weather Report.
His solos are still reeling in my head. Tragically, he left the planet in pain and sorrow; few people even noticed his demise. Love you Jaco
