Oh, I've just come from the land of the sun From a war that must be won in the name of truth With our soldiers so brave your freedom we will save With our rifles and grenades and some help from God

@JilleKnapp7: I get the feeling that many of the comments are being made by people too young or listened to a different genre of music to remember that this is a New Order song. I'm glad to see someone else knows their music history!
If a vet heard this song he would cry. This song pictures the emition and feelings behind his voice and the message. Every great artist sings with prepose some might be through through exprience othiers from lust or greed. But he sings from the soul and he realy knows what it feels like or the writer of the piece knows what it feels like after war when you lose everything.
Ray LaMontagne. And God will meet you wherever you are. 'For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." 1Corinthians1:18,19.'
Having heard New Order's original version, it seemed like such an out-of-place song for them, as if they didn't quite know what to do with it. An example of a hidden gem just waiting for the right interpretation. Just my opinion though.
God was with the Israelites throughout the Old Testament in every battle that they won. Very savage, yet God's plan goes far beyond our minimal understanding.
best song on the album hands down. i love his version. hearing this song makes me want to cry about our wars in afghanistan and iraq. sadness for a whole generation of young men and women at this rate.
May all their journeys be swift, safe and sure. May they be lounging in what ever heaven they believe in with full glasses, full bowls and full plates before they know they are gone.
