In Flames

After leaving Ceremonial Oath to form In Flames, founding member and guitarist Jesper Strömblad saw this project as a way of expressing his songwriting creativity rather than being stuck in the background. With the added influences of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, along with his own touch of aggressive metal that overwhelmed his home country of Sweden, Wrong Again Records took notice and released In Flames' 1993 debut, Lunar Strain. In the tradition of many other Swedish metal acts, In Flames also had a revolving lineup that changed year after year -- not that this was going to stop them from releasing their next album, Subterranean (1994), before signing to Nuclear Blast Records in 1996.

After putting out The Jester Race album later that year, followed by 1997's Whoracle, In Flames' lineup was finally settled with Björn Gelotte (drums), Anders Fridén (vocals), Peter Iwers (bass), and Daniel Svensson (drums) in addition to Strömblad. To celebrate, the band released its sixth album, Colony, in 1999. Clayman followed in the same vein the next year, and the band even managed to keep the same lineup for this release. The live Tokyo Showdown was released to promote their tour in 2001. Reroute to Remain arrived in 2002, followed by Soundtrack to Your Escape in 2004 and Come Clarity in 2006. In 2008 the band released its ninth studio album, A Sense of Purpose, which featured the single "Mirror's Truth," followed in 2011 by Sounds of a Playground Fading, which was the first release not to include founding guitarist Strömblad, who left the band the previous year. Exploring a more progressive sound, the band returned with their eleventh album, Siren Charms, in 2014. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi

Is good if you liked the NU METAL but no much better of album subterranean or lunar strain this is truth metal no nu metal IN FLAME is another comercial band
Of course this is good!
It is really kinda sad how they went from awesome to poop. I'm pretty sure they started their decline after Clayman, which I quite enjoyed. R2R was just ok and then they went off the deep end fast after that.
What happen with this band today this album is awesome but today sound like korn
Swim is the best
Behind Space and Reflect the storm are the most memorable by this band for me so far, except for the whole album that has been wired into my brain, of which I have forgotten the name of.
Power V like Randy Rhoads. My cousin is uploading the pictures. On face book or youtube.I'll get exposure.
you mean a flying V? momas boy.
My mom took pictures of me playing my V shaped guitar.
#my sweet shadow
I might record a song about Raistlin Majere tomorrow on yotube.
2 words * MMM' Beefy
Swim is the first and best song I heard from in flames. I prefer Lake of tears with Raistlin Majere and Crysannia.
Clayman and Colony are the best albums for me. And for f&$ksake if you haven't heard Swim before go have listen. Jesper is a guitar god.
Thankfully bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and Soilwork saved metal from the minimalism of so called Nü Metal. Thank you Sweden!
Wayfearer
this is the first song i heard from them and I can already tell its a awesome band
Haven't heard anything I've liked out of this band since Clayman. That said, The Jester Race is probably one of my top 3 favorite albums.
Clearly way past their peak but there is no denying their influence on the genre
Man Made God is friggin AWESOME
Who's the chick singing ?
average at best now...
One of the better live shows I've seen. The singer is very charismatic and draws the audience into the performance. Even better, it was in a smaller theater, so there wasn't a bad seat in the place.

Good f**king song
hmmm not sure about this modern in flames
In Flames > Soilwork!
in flames we trust
FUCKEN SICK!
ATR and KSE ARE similar artists. It goes based on what the most recent album sounds like dude. Plus if it werent for ATR I never wouldve found in flames. So stop insulting them because you obviously only go based on what you hear off the radio. Regardless of what people say a war you cannot win was still pretty dang heavy and for we are many was heavier than a sense of purpose was. Oh and calling them radio rock is not true because I am 16 listen to them and I actually am a hardcore kid when it
My dad always listened to them and got me into this genre
I have a little bit of a problem with ATR, and KSE being listed as Similar Artists Maybe old ATR, but nothing from their last 3 albums. KSE and ATR are radio rock bands that Tweens listen to so they can claim that they're Hardcore
Dude, I heard these guys at first and didn't really like them; they just weren't really metal enough for me after having gone on a super black kick; I've been giving them a chance every time I've heard them since, and I must say that not only are a really unique and awesome band, they're truly in a class of their own. The level of expression and thought that go into their lyrics and composition are rivaled by few bands.
In Flames is excellent.
sick
Other music is only for the weak!

I just got into this band and there just an outstanding band. And there signers voice is one of a kind.
Man, these guys are so good, they burn my ears! If you get what I mean. ;)
Great band!
thanks flames for being so epic of a band god
them guitars so good 2 my ears
I saw Inflames with Demon Hunter and Aman something or other last summer in Santa Cruz at a pretty small club called the Catalyst. They put on a great show. The lead singer is a very charismatic and full of energy.
whoracle is just so good...why did they have to sell out
My mom got me into this band ;) that's why I love her so much.
Reflect the storm is one of my favorite songs by this band I love this it's awesome
Awesome band!I like the album "Colony".

This band is made from the very seeds of awesomeness that have sprung up around the river Epic. Sounds of a Playground Fading FTW!
