REM and Husker Du in the same sentence. WTF? Husker Du and THe Pixies/Sonic Youth/Dinosaur Jr. YES. The review piece on Husker Du is just stupid and incomplete. What about giving birth to Nirvana? At least connect the dots! Jesus.
Shouldn't the Replacements be in that first sentence, too? It's wrong to suggest that the 'Mats somehow followed Husker Du when both bands formed at the same time and released their first recordings the same year.
I just saw Grant Hart at the Black Cat in D.C. on Jan.13, 2011. He played to 30-40 people and it was great. His voice has improved immensely; quite a crooner now. (parrelleling Maurice Chevalier)(Song:what's a little angel doing so far from heaven)He was very relaxed and talked to the crowd often. Did at least 6 H.Du songs.(girl on heaven hill, pink turns to blue, she floated away, somehow someway, never talking to you, don't want to know

I agree with Matt Du too. The (late 70's -80's) "Minneapolis" sound was very diverse. The only thing these bands had in common with each other was the ability to rock.

"Hüsker Dü never was more than a cult favorite." Who writes this stuff? I guess getting signed to a major label (albeit towards the end of their run), does not constitute any success. But I do have to agree, they set the standard for a lot of music that followed.
Hey all, i know uh one foo who need to chill the f**k down. Bromide. What, someone stole yo birthday bromide, why you be hatin'. All fiesty n s**t. up in all our faces with yo gritty angst. man, relax. an dis husku du, it be fo bithes, but bicht music coo too, so long yo no b**ch.
this here song, man, far as b**ch music go. usha think it got some feelin. hell ya.
How are Husker and REM even on the same page here. WTF, really, this review and therefore reviewer are crap..."Let's just throw some band names in there, does not really matter who just some names"...Yeah, can I have a job too...
The most influential Hardcore band of the 80s. They were THE inspiration for the Grunge Rock of the 90's. The REM comments here are intersting. Husker Du was Michael Stipes favorite band and plenty of people felt that Husker Du wrote the songs that REM wanted to.
i must say,i am very confused at the lack of metal circus and land speed record in the pandora library....whats the deal?....also,i see lots of sugar and bob mould solo, but no grant hart solo?remember, the band had two song drivers,it wasnt the bob mould band(though the man is a musical genius)

Good luck reviewing music, Mr. Clueless.
MUSICAL KARATE CHOP TO THE HAID!

however, thei r ethic was the same,at least before rem became and arena band

so,same time frame,same ethic,and same audience(und e r g r o u n d ) , t h i n k about it you start to see what the guy is talking about
i dunno,i guess you had to be there
this here song, man, far as b**ch music go. usha think it got some feelin. hell ya.
Anyone unfamiliar with Hüsker Dü's early work should brace themselves for a breakneck force like no other. Not for the faint of heart.
"tossed aside by a brighter star'
well worth finding LP is well worn.
