After the breakup of Mazzy Star, vocalist Hope Sandoval joined with Colm O'Ciosoig (formerly of My Bloody Valentine) to form Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. The project retained the laid-back, slowcore sound of Mazzy Star, and much like Mazzy Star, featured Sandoval's sensuous, hypnotic voice. However, it replaced the psychedelic leanings that Mazzy Star was known for with spare, subtle arrangements that reinforced Sandoval's gentle vocal style. In 2000, Sandoval issued her first EP with the Warm Inventions, At the Doorway Again, and followed it up with her debut full-length, Bavarian Fruit Bread, a year later. ~ Stacia Proefrock, Rovi
Her voice is so beautiful.... So Tonight That I Might See is one of my favorite albums. Takes me back to when I was younger and life was much more simple. Rejuvenating :)
She is one of a kind ! Her voice is so beautiful and haunting at the same time like Jim Morrison of The Doors.

One of the most instantly recognizable voices around. That alone is cause for admiration. The voice Hope has is a most beautiful instrument. Great stuff. Loved Mazzy Star, now she is going on in a fine direction.
Well said JACOBSAZ. I thought of the Cowboy Junkies also. I hear a little more Natalie Merchant. Hope Sandoval looks as intriguing as her voice sounds. Supurb talent with a voice that break a few vocal rules yet sounds good. I believe this displays Hope Sandavol as an "authentic talent". Her artistic voice involves a recipe of fearless mystical influences and well crafted quality. Although Ms. Sandavol echos other styles she stands on her own as a distinctive and authentic talent.

when I feel a somber or sad mood come on... Hope; your voice soothes me. Let the tears flow! I <3 Hope Sandoval
Imagine adopting a cat, and after about a year, it starts singing like Hope Sandoval. Well, it happened to me. Then she grew into a human and started a band called Mazzy Star.

absolutely the pinnacle of greatness, i love hope and all things mazzy and inventiveness, wish i could see'm perform, never comes close to nashville or surrounding area (tennessee)
Its finding records like this that makes Pandora worth its weight in gold. I am on old Mazzy Star fan who diud not realize this band existed...really great!
I prefer Mazzy Star for those "psychedelic leanings" and was happy regardless to find Bavarian Fruit Bread a few years ago. I guess I'll have to search again and see if Hope Sandoval is doing anything these days. Ditto rope0dope...
i have this incredibly distinct memory of listening to mazzy every night falling asleep with a girlfriend i had in college--her voice takes me back to the dorm room, the candles, the randomness of faded memories. this stuff sounds pretty nice too but no more j i wonder what the hell she's doing now? married that douche kenny?
I'm so excited to hear more beautiful songs vocalized by Hope Sandoval. I have played my Mazzy Star CD's to death and am so happy now to hear new work.
