Huntington Beach, CA's (hed) p.e. (the "pe" stands for "Planet Earth") was founded in 1994 by frontman Jahred (aka M.C.U.D., aka Jerred Shaine), whose goal was to fuse the region's long-standing punk rock heritage with G-funk-inflected hip-hop -- a sound he labeled "G-punk." Three years and a self-financed 1995 EP entitled Church of Realities later, (hed) p.e. (also comprising lead guitarist Wesstyle, rhythm guitarist Chizad, bassist Mawk, drummer B.C., and DJ Product on turntables and samples) released their eponymous debut through Jive Records, then hit the road with Ozzfest and bands like Korn, Static-X, and System of a Down. A second album, Broke, followed in the year 2000, and a third, Blackout, in 2003, after which (hed) p.e. switched labels from Jive to Koch, and underwent something of an overhaul (welcoming new guitarist Jaxon and drummer Moke) prior to recording their fourth album, 2005's Only in Amerika. The all-new Back 2 Base X and the Best of (hed) Planet Earth compilation arrived in 2006, followed by Flat Bill Hat in the summer of 2007, and New World Orphans in 2009. A second compilation titled Major Pain 2 Indee Freedom: The Best of Hed P.E. was released in 2010, featuring a new track and a limited-edition DVD of the group performing live in Los Angeles. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
Its all about the messsage. The s**t that man puts on blast is relly what people should be thinking about. The great rock music really is just a perk :)
up til '03 Hed PE was probably one of my favorite bands to catch live or listen to. Then its like they smoked way too much kush and tried to get political and spiritual for no reason. whatever. still a great band. Seen em tons of times and Jahred always puts it down for the crowd

what could be better than a swan dive into the asphalt ? this band is so dope

If you agree with what HED PE sings about check out infowars . com The revolution is coming! Stay informed!!
I used to really enjoy this band but since New World Orphans and Truth Rising I've lost interest. They became more politically upfront in a way that I'd a expect a 15 year old stoner would preach their political standing. I think they should cool it with all the political stuff and go back to the stuff from Only in Amerika and Broke. (I like Blackout. Good album, it just wasn't a real HED album)
I've followed Hed since 97 and haven't lost any respect for the way they do their s**t, they keep it more real then any band ever has. I have seen them live like a dozen times and its never boring and also got the chance to actually meet them all in person. Theses guys are seriously deep in what they talk about and I loved every minute of our one on one. Cant wait to do it again
F**K YA!!!! (hed)p.e. is fckin wicked!!!! all their music rocks hard.. nothing like cranking the stereo up as loud as it can go n jamming them!!!! never tap out!!!!
Saw them lastnight at 'Live X' with Pop Evil,Hollywood Undead and Seether...Seether was good but (hed)p.e. absolutely ruled a$$...I met the guys and they were all so appreciative and fan friendly..Jahred and Mawk gave me a hug like they had known me forever..I wanted to buy a shirt but they were all sold out so Mawk gave me the 'Truth Rising' album and they each signed it..What a great show and night.
