The New Haven, Connecticut-based Hatebreed got together in 1993 for the purpose of creating a "back to basics" hardcore band with heavy metallic guitars, screaming vocals, and 30-second songs. Consisting of Jamey Jasta (vocals), Lou "Boulder" Richards (guitar), Chris Beattie (bass), Sean Martin (guitar), and Rigg Ross (drums), Hatebreed had the chance to play throughout the East Coast while sharing the stage with the likes of Entombed, the Deftones, Slayer, and Napalm Death. By 1997, Victory Records released the quintet's debut full-length, entitled Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire. The group signed with Stillborn/Republic/Universal for 2002's Perseverance and 2003's Rise of Brutality. Supremacy arrived on Roadrunner Records in 2006, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who'd previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror, and Integrity). Guitarist Wayne Lozinak joined the band in 2008. The band released For the Lions, a covers album, in May of 2009, followed by a new self-titled studio album in September. The group's sixth studio outing, The Divinity of Purpose, dropped in 2013. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
hanshi doesn't know what metal is and why was hatebreed opening for someone else that sucks I saw in flames open for lamb of god and they were terrible
I love this band! Ppl think I'm nuts when I tell them their music is inspirational & up lifting. Listen to the lyrics. I think Jamey has an amazing voice & I loved seeing them live.

ok? f**k that! back to basics metal/thrash is what it is. If you cant appreciate that go buy a f**king Madonna record.
Hanshi 'sorta likes metal, but is scared of it' .... I think that is your name ... These guys bring it ... By the way, nobody 'forced' you to sit through anything, ... Grow a pair and appreciate what these artists are putting forward ... Let's see you do it ... Dick!!!

If you aren't familiar with a bands music, it's very hard to discern how good they are just hearing them live. They could have a great show, or a s**tty show depending on many variables ... In general it's pretty cool that anyone stands up there and throws their 'art' out there for all to judge ... I personally commend all artists that are willing to do this ... And as it stands I don't know much about this band, but am starting to become interested ... Just saying, give bands a listen before ju
I used to think like Hanshi: Hatebreed songs all sounded the same to me. I then listened to them more before going to see them for the first time, and my mind was blowned. They lyrics have a lot of meaning to it. In fact, their music motivates me to fight harder. I listen to them alot now when im working out. They are like their own genre of metal: Motivational metal.
was forced to sit through this band while waiting for the mighty IN FLAMES to play...12 songs of repetitive, senseless noise, with no discernable melody or choruses. just horrible rubbish. not sure how they can even call this music. they were loud and good performers, and i credit their energy. but it was just a headache for me.
Jasta 14.. that's old school Ct hardcore...Brick N Wood, El N Gee. Sean Martin/ broken leg...early days in Waterbury pit for the band C.F.I. !!!! Now off to get a Tat from Sean

I believe anyone who hates on a band such as Hatebreed obviously has had their mother or sister blow the members of Hatebreed for a pair of tickets and a free tshirt.
These men are coming to Port.,OR in September and I am almost fired from this job so I will be broke and on the street- rock on...

UNDER THE KNIFE AND SATISFACTION IS THE DEATH OF DESIRE ARE BY FAR THER BEST ALBUMS, WISH THOSE WERE ON HERE. MISS THE OLD DAYS OF THEM PLAYING TINY DIRTY CLUBS
Jasta is a cool guy, seen hatebreed 14 times in last 14 years. Look in there liner notes and they give big shout out to my stompn' grounds, Ground Zero SC. Long live the breed!!!!!!!
While I enjoy their music, it is rather redundant, and many of their songs seem almost identical. its good mixed into a playlist, but it it gets old rathe rquickly on its own. still damn good Metallic Hardcore though
I seen Hatebreed at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA back in 2001... Changed my life. "I'll choose my own destiny!"... and any of you little punk b**ches that don't like Hatebreed need to go back to your emo stations...
saw these guys in 03 with slayer. the best part is they came on 30 seconds after arch enemy just finished, had like almost 100 people fall on thier asses trying to rush in the pit.
