I never understood the letters that he shot into the wall, at the part where Holmes actually says, "My mind rebels at stagnation".

@random person: Awesome name by the way. As far as iffy goes the movie isn't that bad. The trailer showed most of the bad stuff and there is some dark themes about witchcraft but it was really quite tame :).
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!! i have a major crush on robert downey, jr!!! the second one has the best ending to a movie i have EVER seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't stop watching these movies
I saw this movie before any of the old ones or reading the books. Consequently, I ended up reading all of the books with RDJ's Holmes rather than the ''traditional'' Holmes as the main character. This was actually very enjoyable seeing as I feel like Robert Downey Jr. brought more life to the characater than the original actor did.
Flying Penguin - Action wise, it was excellent, and there were many fun moments. The atmosphere was very nice as well - a Gothic London with lots of fisticuffs and darkness. However, if you are looking for a faithful adaptation of the original Canon, Sherlock Holmes you might not like it. I'm a huge Sherlockian, though, and I enjoyed it, because I did not expect it to be exactly like the books. The soundtrack is particularly incredible!
In summary: ears ringing, jaw fractured, three ribs cracked, four broken, diaphragm haemmorraging. Physical recovery: six weeks. Full psychological recovery: six months. Capacity to spit at back of head: neutralized.
this is such a good movie! I think this was the part with the flies in the jar...at least, that's what the title reminds me of. Man, Holmes reminded me of a little kid for a lot of the movie because his big brother (Watson) was moving out and he didn't want to be alone. Understandable, since Watson is probably the ONLY person besides Irene who could handle his quirks

at what point in the movie is this?
Period.
Edit: Additionally , I really like how you can just HEAR someone pacing around in the music.
