Dookie was the first album I ever bought - way back in 94. Also Screamo King - you are completely forgetting Kerplunk and 1039/SOSH (which is a collection of LP's from back when Greenday were still called Sweet Children).
No one can dislike this song. It's so amazing, they still play it on the radio and people still love it. When was the last time you head Baby on the radio? A year ago? Because stupid, cheesy, talentless pop wears out quickly. True music, like Green Day, does not.
this album came out in 1994 when I was in 8th grade. I could not listen to the album enough. It takes me back and I still think it's one of the best albums ever. This, pearl jam, and the offspring were highlights of my youth. Man, I love the 90's
This is one of the shining moments from Green Day before they started doing non-punk things like writing concept albums. Maybe they will go back to their roots... once the movie fizzles.
BTW: I thought he was taking 'e" just for you too!
@ Fuzzy: Yes, I always thought that was the lyrics of the song. I thought he was taking e as a means of escape from the screaming. BTW: 21st Century is weak sauce compared to the rest of their stuff.
She. She screams in silence. A subtle riot penetrating through her mind. Waiting for a sign to smash the silence with the brick of self control.
Are you locked up in a world, that's been planned out for you? Are you feeling like a Social tool without a use?
Scream at me until my ears bleed, I'm taking heed, just for you!
She. She's figured out that all her doubts were someone else's point of view. Waking up this time, to smash the silence With the brick of self control.

Does it sound to anyone else like he's saying, "I'm taking E just for you."?
