one of my favorite lines of all time - I'd walk away, like a movie star who gets burned in a 3 way script, and yes, he is criminally underrated as a songwriter/singer
I told myself and my boyfriend I would only go so far, then he came over to my house armed with this song on 45. I wasn't intending to lose my virginity that day but I couldn't control myself while listening to the sultry, smoothness of Mr. Lightfoot. Now the feelings gone, and I just can't get it back.
Beautiful music, lyrics, voice and song. Ditto on the "takes me back". Traveling from Boston to Maine. The ride. The feeling. And now I too understand the meaning. Can't get enough!

This is the most romantic song I have ever heard. I heard this the first time when I was very young. It stirred me emotionally. It still does. I wish someone would write a song like this about me!

I love this song. It takes me back to my childhoood. I remember hearing this song while on a roadtrip with my family, I was very little, driving through the hills of West Virgina and looking out the window watching the sunlight play through the branches of the trees as we passed. I didn't understand what he was singing about at the time, but love his voice, the arrangement, the guitar and the strings. It all plays so well together and matched the scenary at the time. Wonderful memories.
