The Go Find began life as an electronic-oriented side project for Dieter Sermeus, lead singer and songwriter for the Belgian indie pop group Orange Black. Formed in Sermeus' native Antwerp, Orange, Black had released three albums between 1997 and 2002, and served as the opening act for Belgian club gigs by the likes of Pavement and Stereolab. Sermeus began dabbling in homemade electronica, and eventually enlisted production help from his Morr Music labelmate Arne Van Petegem, who performed as the one-man electronica project Styrofoam. The results of their collaboration were released in 2004 as Miami, sounding something like Belgium's answer to the Postal Service. Sermeus subsequently elected to turn the Go Find into a full band, enlisting drummer/guitarist Tim Coenen, guitarist/keyboardist Nico Jacobs, and keyboardist Joris Calluwaerts for stage shows. This lineup remained intact for the second Go Find album, 2007's Stars on the Wall, which drew its musical inspiration from Radiohead, France's Phoenix, labelmates the Notwist, and the pop recordings of Jim O'Rourke. Sermeus fleshed out the lineup with a bassist, Peter Pask, and Bob Hermans, whom the band simply credits with "sound." The Go Find's third album, Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight, was released in early 2010. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
I absolutely love The Go Find. It's like 70's pop with a modern makeover. I'm hoping Pandora will work out the red tape and feature 'Everybody Knows It's Going To Happen Only Not Tonight'
I got mad chills when I heard "Beautiful Night" the first time. I love the voice. It seem like they have a very 'Pinback' style of making music, and they've mixed that with some more melodic lyrics. In my top 30 now. Good Stuff.
