Thank goodness I am not a musician! I can enjoy each and every fluid note without criticism. Handel and a tympani solo caused me to marry.
Now I do wish I had married the church mouse!
so relaxing !

Handel was the first to inspire me to love classical music. His music made me feel more deeply my love of God and Nature, too.
I have expanded my love of classical music over the years until now I would just die without Mahler and his music makes me feel emotional and I have evolved to being an atheist. I still love Handel, too. Now I love Science, Love and the Golden Rule.
Glad to have the music here, all beautiful and clean things are from God and copy His personality, haters may enjoy hell?Noise! Banging and screaming out of key!
luv the music

chockophase 3: Handel was forced by nothing but financial necessity. Let go your bigotry and read his bio.

chokophase, I don't know which Music History Books you have studied, but your hypothesis is the exception rather than the rule.

Artists of past times were often forced to make works for the church, or privately on religious themes. Such things were inescapable. It has no automatic bearing on the personal beliefs of the artist. EVER.

D'oh!
Handel creates elegant works that feel stable and grounded in this earthly world, and yet gloriously, divinely inspired.
His keyboard writing deserves way more attention. It gets overshadowed by the choral and orchestral music.

The last comment was from Nel's boyfriend, using her computer.

The religious works of Bach, Mozart & Handel brought me back to a belief in God. Fun to sing, too.

On the right, American Evangelism is BS and has killed the church. On the other side, the left has killed the church by elevating current issues over primacy of message (they're sneaky doing this..watch carefully). And science is making the same mistake the church was making a thousand years ago in tying to prove everything with a single theory. Time, etc. a bit of an embarrassmen t for them, truly. Thankfully, Handel, in all his religious/sc i e n t i f i c ignorance knew none of this and could create.

If the bio is too Christian they may have left it out. The new censorship.
Classic music is GOD for of communicate.

What a glorious blessing that is Handel, his works and to whom in gratitude they point. Imagine all of eternity our senses being filled with such music. This is only a foreshadow of the great fellowship Christ has bought for those that love Him, whether they know it yet or will soon see!
Handel left Venice for England and became an English citizen. He gained world wide recognition. He wrote 30 oratorios and close to 50 operas for the Royal Academy of Music .London's first Italian opera company . He composed the Messiah in about 3 weeks not leaving his room or eating much until the final note was written. He truly was inspired when he wrote this work. Near the end of his life he was nearly blind. He die Apr 14 1759 and was buried in Westminster Abbey. This is a very short bio
=Handel on February 23, 1685, to Georg and Dorothea Handel of Halle, Saxony, Germany. From an early age, Handel longed to study music, but his father objected, doubting that music was a realistic source of income. In fact, his father would not even permit him to own a musical instrument. His mother was, however, supportive, and encouraged him to develop his musical talent. With her cooperation, Handel took to practicing on the sly.
When Handel was 7 he got to play the organ at the Kings co

Ditto - where is the rest of the bio????????? ? ? ? ? ? ?
ROVI, you dropped the ball... BADLY!!! and yes I havePandora One and listen daily.....
Being thankful does not mean that you can not comment on the shortcomings of Pandora. I love Pandora and actually upgraded to Pandora One but they should take care of that issue regarding the bios. It's been happening for some time now and they have not fixed it yet.
To the younger generation: be thankful you get the music free. Grumbling is easy and being critical of something you pay nothing for is called ingratitude. Come on be thankful.
I'm witch you dpoarh! and lov'in the music. It doesn't sound broke to me? I guess they got it fixed.
Geez. Such negativity! I am loving this Baroque station. So they messed up one. Pandora is still the greatest on line radio I have found to date.
All right Pandora flaky one, How many times must we read the 1st 3 lines of your bios or so only to find out after we click on for full bio we can't get anything past the 1st 3 or 4 lines?!?!?!
Don't read this because it actually works. You will be kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of you life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lover's name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works
Pandora offer for Baroque is rather poor and sophomoric compared to what is broadly available (i.e.: in Europe we are a bit spoiled with hundreds of live music festivals). I'm curious to know who sang lachia chio pianga on this compilation, it sounded like Tish-Randall . We will never know I guess...
Pandora makes a mess of the 'bio' when they don't have any info on the person. Here we go again!
all I know is, it takes me away to a beautiful place I've been to and was truly in love

Come on you young generation of Pandora research and staff writers, its sad to see no one has bothered to write about one of the most singularly brilliant and influential composers on our planet. G.I.T. and I agree with another blogger, do unleash the power of Pandora's box on these chain letter freaks, or make them write about Handel, (lol)
wjivenal
Who was this guy? He was an unknown legend. One of the best composers of the classical era. Him, Beethoven, and Bach ruled a world we like to call 'a classic filled with logic and emotion.'
Who was this guy?

Apparently Pandora is confusing Handel the composer with Handel the performer.
Handel is regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time, with works such as Water Music, Music for the Royal Fireworks and Messiah remaining popular. Handel composed more than forty operas in over thirty years, and since the late 1960s, with the revival of baroque music and original instrumentat i o n , interest in Handel's operas has grown. His operas contain remarkable human characteriza t i o n , especially for a composer not known for his love affairs.
George Frideric Handel (German: Georg Friedrich Händel; pronounced ) (23 February 1685, Halle (Saale) – 14 April 1759, London) was a German-born British Baroque composer, famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems and organ concertos. Handel was born in 1685, in a family indifferent to music. He received critical musical training in Halle, Hamburg and Italy before settling in London (1712) and becoming a naturalised British subject in 1727.
