Pandora's Full Bio is getting us accustomed to the service of Mao Bama Care. What Socialized Medicine is truly like. Mao Bama Ak Bar !
Telemann has a broadly expressive musical music range that at times has the elegance of Handel, and at other times has the brightness of Vivaldi and Corelli.

Come on Pandora -- I would love to see this bio!

Yikes. How did I get here? Was up for checking out for Telemann's Bio and holy smoke. I end up in chat land. Hellooooo Pandora????
no bio for Telemann? or Vivaldi? WHY?
telemann Was Born in 1681
Telemann Died In1767
Telemann DiedIn 1767
who is this guy ??
where's the rest of his Bio????????? ?
mcarlson1970
Georg Philipp Telemann (1683-1767) was the most celebrated composer of his era, which included Handel and Johann..... And?
I love baroque music!
Visit baroquemusic . c o m for an extensive bio on Telemann
it's amazing how you can tell it's baroque because of the trills they used at that time. Wish there was a bio for him
I don't believe they couldn't find a ROVI to do a bio for one of the greats!
halznutz
No bio for Telemann, one of the greatest and best known composers of the Baroque era? Are you kidding me?!
One of many text books in school.
That's why his isn't here misstudala. She's using it.
Telemann and Rameau were both very great composers. They wrote so much music it's impossible to hear all of it unless that's all you do.
misstudala
if the webmaster doesn't put up Telemann's bio, I'll substitute Lady Gagas and call it his
Why in the world is Barber included in a collection of Early Music?
with out classical/op e r a music my day would never be the same....
thnidu
I guess they don't read these. So I just worked my way through the site (About, Contact, Email Us form) and told them.

If you select from About Georg Philipp Telemann down to full bio and copy, then paste, you'll see the text that
drunk_cossac k pasted below, complete with the weird signature

Without Bach, there would be no future generations like Salieri, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Chopin.
Pandora's album to artist matching is linked via UPC lookup at Amazon. Adventures in Early Music has all artists listed as Performer and not Composer , which is the failure here. If you search for Telemann in the New Station field, it will show a different entry for Telemann (Composer) that is populated with a proper bio.
That said, Slowik's interpretati o n of Barber's Adagio for Strings with Smithsonian Chamber Players is excellent, and likely the best non-a capella rendition I've heard.

Bio still missing. Who is responsible for keeping these up and running?
Georg Phillip Teleman once strangled a man to death for ridiculing his trousers -- something everyone who knew him soon learned not to do.

It appears that Pandora is confusing Telemann the composer with Telemann the performer.
lv2fly7
Bio is still missing on Telemann, guess he does not rate high enough for a full bio
Fish, I couldn't have said it better myself (and I wouldn't even try)!
Long live Baroque!!!
Telemann doesn't need to be Bach... or 'a Bach'. Let's all just thank great fortune that a man so incredibly talented as he came to survive an age in which only about 1 in 5 humans lived past infancy. And how fortunate we are to come to know his music from nearly 400 years ago. Imagine the geniuses that were cruelly taken from us in ages past...
johnmscott20 0 1
This track is not Telemann! It sounds like C.P.E. or W.F. Bach. So much for robots!

The missing text from the bio is as follows:

Georg Philipp Telemann (1683-1767) was the most celebrated composer of his era, which included Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach; he outlived them both. Telemann's output of more than 3000 extant works is the largest of any major composer in Western music, including 31 cantata cycles for the Lutheran church calendar.

(continued)
He was one of the first publishers of his own music, and his collections Der Getreue Music-Meiste r (1723) and Musique de Table (1728) were bestsellers. Telemann seldom repeated himself, yet he created many compact versions of larger cantatas and worked with modular scoring; his Quadri (1730) foreshadowed the string quartet medium. ~ Uncle Dave Lewis , Rovi

Being a musician, I can attest to the fact that although he wasn't a bach and did not write polyphonical l y he was every bit as much a musical genius. He also happened to be Bach's best friend!
goldxnchain
Telemann is no Bach Thank God! We only need one.
Their is much to learn from the past in all genres and aspects of life and what we make in it, we just need to take the time to listen and learn
nir817
Don't read this because it actually works. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the the best day of your life. However if you do not post this comment on at least 3 different songs you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading this so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in at least 143 minutes when if done press f6 and your lovers name will appear on the screen in big letters this is scary cuz it actually works
scalarsky
I Musici, etc., had the best baroque on vinyl.
we've been had boys.
indirect unintentiona l trolling happens every day.
obviously this telemann is an alien.
This is a very strange album. Much of it is not Early Music at all. Schubert? Mahler? Barber!
...Teleman was a master of lost and found mystic expressions of the utmost nothingness- - - - y e s extraordinar y in his total lack of skill sit simple tools like screwdriver and hammer. he will be forever remembered for hit and run in the land of the dog sled and runaway turtle. bravo bio!
singed bio speed king
So weird, the bio used to be here and now it's gone.
Either way, he's still my favorite composer. Most people- even friends in the music industry- haven't even heard of him though, which is weird for someone who was the most famous composer of his time.
Nobody home!
I don't think that the Pandora employees read these comments...
