Funker Vogt

An electronic-body-music duo with updated electronics and a more aggressive style, Funker Vogt was formed by vocalist Jens Kastel and programmer Gerrit Thomas (they took the name Funker Vogt from a radio-operator friend). The duo appeared on several compilations in their native Germany, and released their debut album Thanks for Nothing in 1996. After the release of two limited EPs (Words of Power and Take Care), Funker Vogt signed an American deal with Metropolis Records. The label reissued their debut, and also released the follow-up We Came to Kill in late 1997. Kastel and Thomas have also worked as remixers on Leæther Strip's Yes, I'm Limited, Vol. 2, returning in mid-2000 with Maschine Zeit. T. was issued in early 2001. ~ John Bush, Rovi

Have been a huge fan of these guys for years, it's so sad they split up.

We all know who the hero was...his redemption is the fact that he has been vindicated. Those he pointed to as the cause of wars are still sucking us dry...people are beginning to question media "sources" and realize that we are being lied to, manipulated, used. The HERO's spirit lives...look at recent European elections... t h e IMMORTALS awake!

actually there's something else about Funker Vogt + Pandora specifically , Pandora is playing every FV track *ever made* on my EBM station, which is getting super annoying.

Front 242 ode or rip off

Love these guys as well as Gerrit's other music under Ravenous. Too bad that groups' work isn't as known.

There's more to these guys than dance. Jens likes heavy metal and they did cover metallica's harvester of sorrow. Listen to the lyrics sometime, too. meaningful, political at times, and deep at times.

Funker Vogt did a hell of a lot post 2001 as the bio stops there. Killer dance floor tracks

really hit and miss. Arising Hero/Friendl y Fire are awesome. tracks like Time of Dreams just sound horrible to me. the mid-song harpsicord synth sounds like crap in tracks like that.

ahh its be along time they almost never play this in the clubs anymore
Report as inappropriate
I just dance to them who cares:-)

Love this group, their music hits hard!

They would bore the s**t outta me after 3 songs. This sounds like Cabaret Voltaire and Front 242 with a little Nitzer Ebb mixed in. Heard it all before and it was much more fun the first time around. Ho hum. Think up something original.

I like therfore it is good.

I just wish Pandora had Death Machine, that track rocks.

Their older stuff is industrial, but their newer stuff is EBM (industrial + dance music, in a nutshell).
Report as inappropriate
Someone correct me if i'm wrong but, this is what you call "industrial" right?

Maschine Zeit kept me alive for a few months of my life. Just listening to their music is more of an escape than any book or movie- given the right circumstance s .

Jelly-8, don't let age deter you from what you enjoy in life. I enjoy whatever music I want to. Screw societal parameters.

Aviator - Hostile Waters, Execution Tracks - Civil War ... one of my ALL TIME favorites. ;-)

To me their "Aviator" album is a real improvement. There's much more variety and complexity with each track having a more unique sound than they tended to in the past. It's too bad Pandora doesn't have it. :-(
Report as inappropriate
been listening to these guys since '98, wish the newer albums were on here.. pandora seems to only have em up to '05 but nothin after

Godlike, I love the singer, beat and everything. I love how they scratch the voice sometimes so it sounds like he is singing into a mic in the middle of a battlefield. Not as annoying as NIN even though NIN's earlier stuff was very good.
Report as inappropriate
Uhhh, the way the vocalize is their style. How 'bout you come up with a band, get a record deal, and figure it out yourself. It's always so easy to criticize good talent.
Report as inappropriate
Definitely could stand to have a better singer, but then that applies to 90% of industrial bands with annoying as hell distorted voices. They should all take a lesson from Nine Inch Nails and Imperative Reaction.

I'm listening to GUNMAN. Just a bit more continuity and the song would be absolutely perfect. But as it is, it's really, really beautiful. Funker Vogt may be my favorite band. Never would have found it without Pandora.

By far is Execution Tracks their best and most well known album! Let the Executions begin!!!

Another one I keep hearing at the club but never buy... Sounds pretty sweet when you can hear the whole range of sound in the songs. Time to buy. Thanks Pandora.

Other than VAC, fv is one of my all time favs!

There one of the best EBM bands of all time :)

I finally got the chance to see these guys live at Kinetik Festival in Montreal very recently... Holy crap, they did not disappoint! Their energy is addictive and they had the crowd absolutely crazed with dancing, stomping, and hell, even moshing, out on the floor. It was unreal...

That being said, why doesn't Pandora have the Aviator album on here yet???

I love the rhythm!

I love this band. Makes me wish Pandora had some music by MDM (Modern Digital Militia)
Report as inappropriate
Man what is there to say. An amazing band with extremely harsh vocals and rough electronics, the way Aggrotech is meant to be.
Report as inappropriate
their album artwork is awesome

Awesome band!! We need to hear more from these guys!!
Report as inappropriate
Every track I've heard on my "Industrial" station by them has left me wanting more. It makes me buzz inside even while sober! I'd love the chance to blast them while having a rough romp :)

These people are awesome. Sorry I can't be more precise, but it's way after 3 pm. My brain goes down at 3.

Saw these guys in florida. And twice in Atlanta. Sat down and talked to the lead vocalist while having some beers, his speech was slurred and his english was lack but the coolest guy i spoken to in a long time. As far as musicians go. However God Module , Andy from Combichrist, Ron from VNV are great guys too.
