Firehouse arrived at the tail end of the pop-metal explosion of the late '80s and early '90s, releasing their first album in 1991. Featuring the combined talents of vocalist C.J. Snare, Michael Foster, Bill Leverty, and Perry Richardson, the group's melodic, commercial hard rock had immediate chart success; their self-titled debut went platinum and featured two Top 20 singles, "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "Love of a Lifetime." The following year, Firehouse released their second album, Hold Your Fire, which managed to go gold on the strength of "When I Look Into Your Eyes" (another Top Ten hit). The mainstream had begun embracing a noisier, grungier style of hard rock, however, and Firehouse's popularity waned as the decade progressed.
Three years passed before Firehouse released Firehouse 3, showcasing a softer, more MOR-oriented sound that found a home on adult contemporary radio. Good Acoustics followed a year later, and in 1999 Firehouse returned with Category 5 and the concert release Bring 'Em Out Live. The latter album captured a performance in Japan, where Firehouse continued to maintain their audience despite shifting trends back home. O2 appeared a year later, while Prime Time was issued in 2003. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
i am so thankful for my cousin and my friend introducing me to Firehouse when i was 13 and in love with New Kids on The Block lol i was saved from that crappy pop music and never looked back!!!!!!!
Firehouse members are from Charlotte, NC. Carl aka CJ Snare and Perry used to be in local band called Maxx Warrior that played the East Coast circuit. Used to see them at a place called The Switch in Raleigh, NC in the early to mid 80's.
The biography says they lost their popularity because of the loud grunge rock or whatever. Not in my book! Firehouse blows them out of the water. This song is a great rock ballad.
On cruise monsters of rock with them last week, always loved them, but CJ thought he was to good to hang around with the common people, Bill was great, talked and was easy going guy.
Saw these guys opening up for Warrant and Brett Michaels this summer at the WI state fair, and they rocked!! Snare can hit all the notes, harmonies are amazing, they havent lost a thing!
A friend of mine grew up with Bill in Richmond, VA. We both moved to Pittsburgh in the early 90's and traveled for our jobs. If they were within 100 miles or so of where we were working we went to their shows. We got backstage before most shows and hooked up with them afterwards. Also got to meet the guys from Tesla when they toured together. Awesome times and memories. They are a great band and really good down to earth guys.
I will not lie a bit, CJ has one of the best voiced I have ever heard, and he is even better live. He can hit notes even higher and better than he does in his albums. It is quite amazing. I just saw him a few weeks ago on the 18th of November. They are just an awesome band.
i'm 16 and i grew up listening to this band, haven't heard their music for years. My older cousins, and grandparents used to play this all day errydayyy hahah. Glad i remembered them today... i want to see them SOON :D
It's a shame that their best album "Hold Your Fire" is missing. Their most consistent disc, it contains hard rockers like the title track and "Reach for the Sky." This disc is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.
I just switched over to my Firehouse station after listening to my Machine Head station. Firehouse is the S**T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....F**K anyone who says otherwise.
