The Faceless are a progressive death metal band from Los Angeles affiliated with the underground metal label Sumerian Records. Formed by guitarist Michael Keene and bassist Brandon Giffin, the band also includes vocalist Jeff Ventimiglia (aka Demon Carcass), guitarist Steve Jones, and drummer Lyle Cooper. In 2006 the band made its full-length album debut on Sumerian Records with Akeldama. The album's technical style drew comparisons to death metal trailblazer Chuck Schuldiner and his latter-day work in the band Death. Planetary Duality (2008), the follow-up album on Sumerian, was supported with multiple tours, including treks on the road with Meshuggah and the "Summer Slaughter Tour". ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
Dude holy c**k sucking tit f**king mother f**ker, i always thought these guys sucked... what have i done!!! All this time wasted not listening... i should be flogged
Pure tech death: Benighted, and Gorod. Two of the best. I'm just getting into the Faceless, I must admit it took alike getting used to melody in my tech death but... It has def grown on me! Reminds me if Mike Patron (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) was yo do a death metal side project! :D
Great band, IMO they were one of the better bands at Summer Slaughter 2012, although when I saw them the crowd reaction was pitiful (which was fine because then I could actually watch them)
an autopsy pestilence all dark graves horizons of chaos 1 horizons of chaos 2 leica akeldama the ghost of a stranger prison born the ancient covenant shape shifters coldly calculated design xenochrist sons of belial legion of the serpent planetary duality 1 planetary duality 2 are my favorite songs from the faceless
im more into bands like the faceless between the buriedand me, The human abstract, born of osiris , emmure , whitechapel , the black dahlia murder, as blood runs black, killwhitneydead , i declare war, beneath the massacre, disfiguring the goddess, burning the masses.
I checked out Enfold. They're good, definitely very technical. The more I listen to them the more I like them. Checked out their top 2 songs on youtube. Then did the same for The Faceless. The round go's to The Faceless. Of course, I've been a Faceless fan for a while so maybe I'm biased. As soon as I heard the drums on Pestilence, it was over for me though lol.
This band is straight boss... They have the greatest progressive tone. lyrically they take inspirational people and or things to write about. I can totally say they are the best Technical Death Metal band in the United States right now.

IDK, cant hold a candle to Gorgoroth.... oh, sorry, different genre
All Shall Perish are f**king epic however constant sweeping and ending every sweep with a long vibrato doesn't make it soulful. Also, "hippy" breakdowns are a step up from the constant open E "chug chug chugchugchug chug chug" breakdowns both bands you named ALWAYS do. Pretty much, be quiet. You're pants are too tight and making blood get stuck in your head.
I rather like what I've heard from them. its good heavy, yet still melodic death metal with some progressive influences. nothing to complain about as far as I can see.
hellz ya the faceless owns i cant wait to see them at the summer slaughter! between them, decrepit birth, and decapitated, its gonna be the best show ever.

Planetary Duality is one of the greatest metal albums ever, and A Profecies Fruition has the best tech/death metal riff of all time.
the faceless are amazing greatest metal band to come out in the last 5 years, and winds of plague sucks i hate their playing and their image trying to sell their s**t to wannabe metal head scene f*gs
