Booo? Not playing normal songs and creating "dissonance" as you say (which is not an accurate definition) is the reason DT is the best. as far as playing things "not MEANT to sound good" i have no idea what you could possibly mean.

BOOO. the only DT songs ive found that like are "pull me under" and fortune of lies. They have good musical talent but they play too much dissonence (starting/stopping, playing things that are ment to not sound good). I wish they would just play a normal song

Good album of music just about ruined by triggered drums. Why anyone EVER messed with that, I'll never know. Band I was in years ago tried that whole route, and it was more trouble than it was worth.
One of the best representations for the prog metal genre. Crazy time signatures? check. Crazy tempo changes? check. Amazing melodies and soaring solos? check. Great lyrics? check.
