Last I heard he was still opening for Eric Clapton. Awesome guitar work and great music. Wish he would put something new together. What's up with him and the Arc Angels?

I saw Doyle at The Steamboat in Austin in 1996. The show was completely awesome., Wendy and Lisa played the show with him. I think it is my favorite live music experience of all time. It was a night that everything was just right. All the songs were from the first album which was total R&B rooted. For his encore, he came back out and did the old Arc Angels song he wrote in tribute to Stevie Ray. Half the crowd was in tears. Total greatness.
I got to jam with him at the old Muddy Waters club in Dallas when he was taking a break from recording his first solo record. I'm a big fan, so it was really cool. Thanks to Paul Size and Jonny Moehler.
I was turned on to DBII years ago and was hooked. I got a luchy break and got to see ArcAngels this year at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma CA where they released the original LP years ago. You'll also see Doyle as Eric Clapton's sideman for the past few years. Also toured with Roger Waters.
Doyle II actually has 3 solo albums, Doyle Bramhall II, Jellycream and Welcome. He is also frontman for the Arc Angels. Currently they have reformed and are working on a new cd/dvd release to be out in October.
Doyle's Jellycream album is in my top three all time list. I could listen to it over and OVER and over all the way through. And there are VERY few albums I would say that about. It is it's own little world.
he is awesome..he has a sound of his own with a little bit of eric mixed up in it.. my dad introduced me to doyle and i am very glad that he did.. i am a fan of all these young guys that can rock..oh yeah my dad is 60 and i am 39
Those of you who don't know, his dad, Dolye Bramhall is a long-time drummer with many albums. If you like Doyle II, check out the new Derek Trucks album. He appears and writes with Derek. Killer stuff!! Our Love, beautiful song.
he's got another release before "welcome" called "jellycream" (it's the one that caught clapton's interest in doyle...) found a used copy of it on amazon...!

He tours with Clapton as part of his band. He also plays in both crossroads festivals. I agree, he's excellent
Doyle II is one of the most amazing guitar players out there.I was hoping for another album to follow up Welcome but,he must be doing other stuff. He and Stevie Ray were really good friends.Would have loved to have seen them both on stage together.See What Tomorrow Brings off of the Arc Angels cd says it all.If you're out there Doyle II,we would love another cd!!!!
