Another dream that will never come true Just to compliment your sorrow Another life that I've taken from you A gift to add on to your pain and suffering

What he means is first off he's a young vampire feeling the " burning inside" his skin from the lack of blood inside his skin and hurting and thinking "my life is hard enough why do I have to hurt like this
I haven't read all of the comments. But this song is obviously more than just another song. All of disturbed songs mean something deeper. They are incredible.
For the most part they were doing what they were told... kind of like the majority of people in our once powerful nation. We are considered one of the FORMER world powers... like Germany. Think for yourself.

I agree with Robb, Nazis didn't kill in the name of any religion, they killed Jewish people because they thought Blond haired, blue eyed Germans were better than anyone else, and speaking almost no Jews have either, much less both, Hitler though they were a easy target, and he was right, study history and quit blaming everything on people not of your religion.
Nazis did not kill in the name of atheism. I find arguments blaming religion for human group violence to be overstated, but arguments claiming "murder in the name of atheism" are worse. Those murders were inspired by political ideology. Whether blaming Christianity or atheism, though, you're just making a scapegoat for a big problem in the human condition.
Do you have any idea how many people 170 million is? All the people you've ever met in your whole life probably doesn't even equal 10,000, and that's being generous. Do you remember everyone you've ever met? Can you comprehend multiplying that by 17,000? I know I can't. In comparison, the Spanish Inquisition killed between 2 and 32 thousand. That doesn't mean it wasn't a horrible institution, but they aren't even close to being on the same level.
i believe their jewish, and to the statement made about the 170? million "Jews" were killed in the 20th century lets not forget the crusades and inqusitions committed by the church! what a way to serve god! make people believe your right and their wrong! yeah way to go Jesus! hahaha, sooo many lies are told and believed! its a shame people wont dig for the truth! cause believe me, everything that sounds good isnt necessarily the truth, besides, just listen and feel it! peace!
Actually Jonathan, far more killing has taken place because of hostile atheist governments trying to purge religion from their countries. I believe in the 20th century alone over 170 million Jews and Christians were murdered. That's more than all the casualties of all the wars in that period. And the dark ages were named that because of the disease and lack of education that prevailed. During those times however, devout Christian scientists such as Mendel and Galileo made important discoveries.
this song is not anti-religion. this song is what davids uncle (i believe)wrote as a prayer to god while on his death bed

somebody told me disturbed was a christian band and i was like nah and they were like yeah listen to prayer and stricken im pretty sure both of those songs are more anti religion but i guess religious people are dumb
david_essl
one of disturbeds' best songs the second album definitly has more melody than the first "the sickness".
Matt Bleakley - do they have any reason not to? Last I checked religion is the reason for quite a bit of human suffering, on top of the fact that in general it slowed human progression to the point we named the era where religion was most powerful "the dark ages".
