I don't think this is talking about Jesus. Why would he say they view you as the 'new messiah'? It seems like he's talking about people basically worshipping the president.
Don't think this is necessarily about politics, despite the speech excerpts. Draiman is known to avoid the obvious meaning in his lyrics. McTague97 is probably right; the song is another statement against organized religion in general.
@ Dominatus, I'm pretty sure It's about Jesus, and that one by Linkin Park you mentioned isn't about Bush either. Are you sure you know youre talking about? 0_o
Who doesnt know that the singer had religous parents and thats why he is using music as relieving himself my aunt is really religous that she tried to make me go to church every sunday just beacause my dad listened to this band eveydad only if my aunt understood what he was saying so she wont be so disappointed of me
It was talking about defying god. Him the artist grew up in a religious family which he rebelled against. He led a very angry life and this is how expresses it. Angry music. I don't really like them.
All songs by Disturbed is freakingggg AH-MAZINGGGG!

Dominatus: who says anyone did? The lyrics are clearly about some kind of dictator figure, and it's quite possible (likely, even) that the character is completely fictional.
Typical political junk from the simple-minded idiots in our music industry. Stick to songs about War and Death, Disturbed, because you are too foolish to write about anything else. I can list tons of songs by other artists spouting the same trash. Such as Devour by Shinedown or No More sorrow by Linkin Park.
Seriously though, think about what this song is saying. And consider what Bush had to go through during his presidency, from all sides.
These are the thoughts of every single soldier after they realized what Iraq was about! That's why we close ranks and get the F-en job done and get home alive. Nice to see that this time the protest wasn't directed at those following orders rather than the idiots handing them out!
Wow, the "Tard" is strong with the anti-Obama crowd on Pandora!
This song was written, recorded and performed during the Bush years.

I couldn't give a rat's about the political beliefs of celebrities to include music artists, but this song fits Obama better than any politician since Hitler. I'm not saying Obama is genocidal or even outright evil nor am I saying that HE believes he is a god, but there is no doubt that his supporters looked to him as some sort of messiah and as this song so beautifully conveys... they were deceived. I don't know of any Bush supporters who were half as blindly-devoted as Obama's "followers" are.
This song is absolutely about Bush. If you listen to the CD, the song starts out with a quote from an unknown person stating "That's what I believe got him reelected, is the people knew you can believe what he says" (Renew belief). Followed by a clip from the 9/11 address of Bush stating "we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world."
