Australian singer/actress Delta Goodrem got her start on the popular soap opera Neighbours, and parlayed her fame from the show into a singing career. Her first album, the million-plus-selling Innocent Eyes, arrived in 2003 and featured songs co-written by pop songwriters such as Cathy Dennis. At that time, Goodrem was splitting her time between Neighbours and her pop career, but her diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma forced her to slow down and re-evaluate her life. The direction for what was to become her next batch of songs came from Goodrem's physical and mental therapy. Recruiting a team of collaborators that included Dennis, Gary Barlow, and songwriter/producer Guy Chambers, who had also worked with pop stars including Robbie Williams, Goodrem used her experiences -- good and bad -- to create Mistaken Identity, which was released in the U.S. in summer 2005. Her next project involved a different team, including Westlife's Brian McFadden for his pop acumen, Stuart Crichton for his dance smarts, and Nashville-based Tommy Lee James for ballads. The result, an album titled Delta and released through Decca, appeared in 2008. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
Another Aussie gem! I agree on the "freakishly gorgeous" comment.

Oh, and not that it matters, but she is FREAKISHLY GORGEOUS. Just saying.

Delta has a great voice, a talented piano player, and a very warm person and fun to watch perform live. I only have her current album since the first two are not in the US. But I plan to pick them up soon. It is a shame that she is not as big here in the US as she is in Austrilia. In my honest opinion Delta Goodrem is far more talented then the current top artist.

This woman has a voice of liquid crystal, and her piano-playing is refreshingly creative. A beautiful sound! That said, the only album I've really been able to warm up to is "Mistaken Identity", because of its edginess. I think that fit Delta superbly. Favorite songs: "The Analyst", "Electric Storm", "Mistaken Identity". A rich, decadent sound to all three.
Quite good, though her music videos aren't all that great. (And the sedimentary buildup was named for the Greek uppercase letter, so she's named after something that was named after the thing that it looks like. Or something like that.)
Not sure how she manages to project a sincere aura of purity, but I don't get the same shallow and narcissistic vibe from her music that I get from the droves of wannabe pop queens out there. She is a surprisingly talented singer.

I love her music. We saw her perform in a small bar she was wonderful. Great sense of humor, beautiful and great voice.

Her music is incredible, unique and she's beautiful to look at, what more could you want?
I just found this artist a couple of days ago, but I'm completely smitten. Wonderful, beautiful music.
(And the fact that she's gorgeous doesn't hurt, either ^_^)
I can't believe they don't have "I Can't Break It To My Heart" as a song on here. I love that song!
"But if I still believe you love me Maybe I'll survive So I tell myself you're coming home Like you've done a million times And if it's alright I'll still be loving you 'cause I can't break it to my heart"
