It was 100 degrees as we sat beneath a willow tree Whose tears didn't care they just hung in the air And refused to fall, to fall I knew I'd made a horrible call

This is beautiful, and the lyrics hide delicate imagery and meanings.

his freaked me out This isn't fake. Apparently , if you copy and paste this on ten comments in the next ten minutes, you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain you will see a little dead girl in your room tonight. In the next 53 minutes someone will say I love you or I'm sorry
1. Kiss your left arm 2. Say your crushes name 3. Close your hand 4. Say a school day 5. Say your name 6. OPEN your hand and look at it. 7. Post this to 15 songs and your crushes say he likes you and ask you out on the day that you choose
Reminds me of a story I heard about a sculpture artist who designed big wooden installations with materials he knew would rot away. He hoped they would collapse after his death but they didn't last quite long enough...
Kirsten Granstrom: Clearly about relationships, aybe wrongheaded, deluded ones. You can't find nothing at all, if there weren't nothing there all along. I don't see a metaphor here, and I'm a good reader of poetry. Is this a little projection on your part? Do you know a meth addict or two?
THis band is just as eclectic as the Beatles. Amazing...but their new stuff, like I Will Possess Your Heart isn't quite as good. There's a new one too that sounds more generic pop-like.

You can't find the love of your life in this person, because there was nothing there all along.
I really don't see how anyone with an ounce of reason could possibly believe this song is about drug use.
For example: "I'm a war, of head versus heart, And it's always this way My head is weak, my heart always speaks Before I know what it will say"
Pretty clearly about relationship complications. Heck, look at the lyric where they get the song title from. The "narrator" of the song is very clearly singing to/about himself and one other person.
Good song...and NO it's not about drug use...If you read the lyrics, it's clearly about a bad relationship, and breaking up.

Wait, are you saying that Death Cab for Cutie is singing about a relationship that ended poorly? No way, I'm not buy it for a second. But seriously, great song, great band. Also, I believe it is "I built you a home in my heart with rotten wood and it decayed from the start"
How the hell is this happy? Just look at the lyrics. It's about meth use and drugs, basically. And, I built you a home in my heart with rotten wood meant to cave from the start? Ugh. Seriously, you guys.

Where the crap are people getting "meth use" f
amazing song.
Also, I think it's about a changing neighborhood , and life changing around them, not their personal experience.
have you eve considered:
"and you can't find nothing at all if there was nothing there all along"
